This week, writing about the plight of Texas Democrats, the Tribune’s managing editor, Ross Ramsey, asked: “So why does anyone still invest in these guys?”
Why pose such a question when you’ve already answered it in the same article? It’s exactly the same reason that folks like George H.W. Bush, Robert Mosbacher Sr. and H.L. Hunt continued to invest in Texas Republicans when they were in “the basement” and didn’t seem capable of winning a statewide race: because they believed in the Republican Party and what it stood for, and they knew that if ...

Absolutely. This isn't new. It's been hard to be a Democrat in Texas for the last decade or so. It's just that some times are harder than others. We'll all just suck it up. Well done Chris.

Conservatives believe we could be doing much better educating our children and realize that the Democrats taking care of the unions are largely to blame for misspent education dollar that providing opportunity for the less fortunate should not come at the cost of taking away potential opportunity for someone else; we believe in equality but not when it involves stealing from one person to give to another, abhor racism and know God wants us to take care of people and stop fear mongering to line business interest's pockets with boondoggle green projects.

The country has just seen what happens when you put Democrats in control. Judging from the last election the public was not happy. It is always nice to have a model to go by when you are professing an agenda. I would like to ask the author what state that has been run by a Democrat house and Senate and a Democrat Governor that we can look to as an example of Democrat philosophical success. You can measure success any way you want. I would hope the State is not in financial trouble and has been adding jobs to a growing economy.

If dems work hard, maybe they'll work their way up to 50 state House seats out of 150. There's a reason Republicans have 100% of the state-wide offices in Texas. dems are persona non grata.
