Flanked by Gov. Rick Perry, Attorney General Greg Abbott, Comptroller Susan Combs, House Speaker Joe Straus and his wife and mother, the Jalisco native said he was proud to switch to the party that values faith and hard work.
“We were all raised in Jim Wells County, a county whose residents are, by and large, pro-life, pro-business and pro-oil-and-gas exploration, a county where gun ownership and hunting are as common as ...

If he thinks the Texas Dems, who couldn't bully their way out of a paper bag, are "bullies", he's too much of a wimp to even be in the Lege.

He obviously does not want to be reelcted, because if he thinks Republicans are going to accept him, he really does have a lot to learn.

The gulf is pretty wide between the two parties. How does one change all of his convictions on the economy, the environment, education, foreign policy, immigration, energy policy, and human rights?

Another "R" that feels the need to use RReagan's words. Are the "R"'s unable to make up their own statements?

Traitor: a person who betrays another, a cause, or any trust Democrats elected him, and this is how he pays them back. Money talks and BS walks ....

So I guess the office will leave him too. I just commended him a couple of days ago for not using that line.

Ronnie Reagan wouldn't get elected in this current GOP Party!

It was BS when Raygun said it; he was bought and paid for by GE.
It was BS then and BS now.

To everyone in J. M. Lozano's district - If y'all elected a Democrat, and your representative now calls himself a Republican, start a recall effort and oust him. You could wait and vote him out of office at the end of his term. If his district should be a Democratic district, and he isn't, get involved and chop off his power if you can. The current process in Austin leads to one-sided politics and that's not good for Texas!
Zachariah Evans
By being "bullied" he meant "encouraged to stand up for the rights of those who put him into office in the first place."
And to admit that his decision was based on a tough district that isn't overwhelmingly easy for him to win? Too scared to stand up and fight? Pobrecito! Where I come from, we'd call that a lack of intestinal fortitude.
Good riddance. We don't want any non-hackers anyway.

If Ronald Reagan was around today, he would say "Sanity hasn't left the republican party, the republican party has left sanity."

He is only doing the switch hoping strait ticket votes will lock him in office so he might be elected. BUT fair warning once a democrat always a democrat. Perry and Texas speaker is a good example of a rhino.
So Texas voters should make good notes and vote all the democrats and rhinos out do not let a democrat hide behind a republican ticket.
