Updated: Tea Party Presses Perry on Immigration
Updated 4:15 p.m. Monday: Tea Party leaders confronted Rick Perry in his own back yard Monday, calling on him to use his power as Texas governor to crack down on illegal immigration.
The activists, representing Tea Party groups from around the state, want Perry to either sign an executive order or call the Legislature back into a special session to enact a ban on so-called sanctuary cities. They also want him to eliminate a policy that they say discourages the state police from enforcing federal immigration laws.
After holding a press conference about it at the Capitol, the ...

Good luck. Perry has shown time and time again he walks lock step with the Bushes and apparently Obama himself. What makes anyone think he would actually follow through if you persuade him to make these hollow promises. Those who call for " comprehensive immigration reform" i.e. amnesty , say nothing about border security or revisions to ALL visa programs that are so abused as to allow several million per year to LEGALLY enter this country. COMPREHENSIVE BORDER SECURITY is what is needed. WALLS, FENCES, ARMED PATROLS, BORDER PATROL, NATIONAL GAURD AND OR MILITARY PERSONELL, GROUND SENSING RADAR, CAMERAS , AIR AND SATILITE SURVELLENCE , and yes alligators and moats if it stops the flood. The issues of national security, personal safety of citizens, economic health of the country, national sovereignty , stopping drug trade , gangs and cartels, human trafficking, ALL DEPEND ON SECURING OF OUR BORDERS. The continued rhetoric that Legal Hispanic Americans will vote against anyone who promotes addressing these problems and securing the Nations borders for the safety , security and economic welfare of it's citizenry is irresponsible and does not reflect the view of Legal American Citizens on the whole whatever color or racial background they come from. It does reflect the views of Illegal immigrants and their supporters. ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS DO NOT VOTE AND THEIR WANTS AND NEEDS SHOULD NOT BE OF PRIMARY CONCERN. The primary concern of elected officials should be the wants and needs of American Citizens , they are the ones who vote and according to the Constitution , the only ones who's opinions matter. Those who openly march in our streets demanding " rights" they are not entitled to and continue to disrupt our political process by inserting themselves into a process they are not entitled to participate in , should be disregarded entirely. They already go to Washington and meet with OUR PRESIDENT taking up valuable time lobbying for valuable resources, benefits and considerations they have no right to in the first place. They come and drive down wages below average standards , then demand we American Citizens subsidize their expenses for themselves and their children whether they be anchor babies born here or illegal children brought here in violation of the law. Enough is enough and Rick Perry will do nothing to remedy the problem , he will only add to the problem by welcoming all who are here with open arms and with inadequate border security , invite many millions more to come. We have been down this road before when Reagan invited only 4 million to stay. The number today is realistically 4 times that many and if we do it again nothing will change . next time it will be ten times the number or more. Join NumbersUSA , ALIPAC, FAIR , Secure Borders Coalition, call , fax and write your representatives and tell them NO MORE ILLEGALS, As well LEGAL Immigration should be restricted until ALL AMERICANS WHO WANT A JOB HAVE ONE !!!

Do the Laws of Man forfeit the Laws and teachings of GOD?
We who are true believers in the word of God have to understand that many of us forget the message of his teachings. I am not a holier than though type person but I do know when faced with something too large to comprehend or understand he says turn it over to him. What brings me to write this is the present firestorm and hatred being directed at People his children as well no matter where they are from. Yes I am talking about what is termed "Illegal Immigration". Our law says "you have no right to be here"...because Man made it a Law... God says:
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’”
— Mark 10:14
“’ He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?’ declares the LORD.” — Jeremiah 22:16
“ He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.”
— Proverbs 14:31
These are just a few of his teachings, I choose to believe his teachings are ultimately the ones I will follow not a law that Man made. If you follow all the statistics, buy in to the belief that "aliens" took our jobs, they drag down the economy with assistance, do not pay taxes, kids have no right even if this is the only home they know ..to further their education then you do not believe in this teaching:
“ Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
— James 1:27
I feel like people who risk their lives who are fathers, sons, mothers, daughters to provide for their family would only do so because they have no choice. Some never make it ..their families never knew their fate because they were either murdered or became to weak to continue to walk through the dessert and were left to die.
"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
Galatians 6:2
To many our neighbors are a huge burden but I choose his way. Who am I to say you have no right to eat or provide for your family.
To all our Politicians who have lost their way and all of us who have been blinded and bought into this unhumanatarian law that spawns hatred and causes such discord, I will still believe The law of God before that of Man!
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you "(Ephesians 4:29-32).

Perry was talking out of both sides of his mouth during the special session. One side was saying that santuary cities bill was an emergency. The other side of his mouth was saying: make it look good, like we are really serious about illegal immigration this time, but don't offend Perry Builders and their $2.5 Million donations to the campaign and Texans will think that we tried but we just couldn't get'er done.

The following is going all-across Texas.
Put the PRESSURE on Rick Perry. He needs to lead in Texas before he tries to go to DC. Let’s see what he is really made of.
Contact Governors Perry’s office and let him know you want to (1) end sanctuary cites in Texas and (2) have E-Verify mandatory for ALL employing others in Texas. Your elected representative in Texas need to also be yelling for action. This needs to be Texas law with stiff penalties before Christmas. Use every tool available – for one thing it is the law and he needs to enforced the law and for another, does Perry have what it take to be our President?

Don’t tell me about the cost of a special session – the cost of not doing this far outweighs the cost of fixing it!
PS When talking to your representative let them know we can see where they got “special interest” money for their campaign and see how it ties to their actions – we have researchers digging deep. You too can follow the money - http://www.teaparty911.com/issues/campaign_finance_follow_the_money.htm - caution , you may get upset.

I'm not sure of how much credibility can be given to Governor Perry. You need to remember that when running for Governor this last time he stated that he had no desire to seek the presidency. I also think it was a slight of hand on his part in putting the sanctuary cities item on the list for the extra legislative session. If I were a betting man my money would be on "he knew it would be defeated before he agreed to put it on the docket". Everyone needs to remember - his last real job was when he was in the Air Force, the rest of his adult experience has been as a politician. He has learned the lesson well; "talk is cheap". The country needs new blood in the game, not someone steeped in the political establishment. Granted he would be better than Romney, but that isn't saying much.
I would be pleasantly surprised if he were to prove me wrong by calling another legislative session to pass the sanctuary cities bill and to have e-Verify 100% compulsory for every business within the state of Texas but call me cynical; I do not see either of these happening.
Katie Plass
WTH is a sanctuary city? A city where local law enforcement abides by the 4th Amendment and federal immigration laws? All new and renewed Texas DLs and IDs are now tied to proof of US citizenship or legal residency by date. So when a cop looks up your info, they can see your immigration status.
This sanctuary city bs was poorly named and poorly thought out. Invent a different buzz word to assist in expressing your racist tendencies.
d f
Oh. Woe is guv good hair. Whas he onna do? Appeal to his right-wing crazies? Or to the rapidly increasing Latino vote? While of course makin sure his sugar daddy, big bidness money bags continue to be able to get illegals to do their dirty work for them. Work no respectable teabagger would ever even dream of doing. My guess is he panders, again, to the crazies, cuz most idgit Texans don't care a whit about this. Only his crazy teabaggers along the border are hot to trot on this one. Getting a "sanctuary city" bill will make em pee in their pants. An issue about as important as all that voter fraud runnin rampant across the state that caused the guv and his Repub cronies to enact all them bills making it harder for folks to vote, specially folks who are not white, red-neck, crazy, nor evangelical lunatics.
Dennis Scharp
Who has the racist view point???? I contend that those of you who afford special privileges to non-US citizens are the ones playing the race card. Sanctuary Cities are those cities where the local law enforcement are instructed not to check the legal status of the people congregating in the city.
Just because someone shows up at your door doesn't mean you need to accommodate their demand to let them sleep in your spare bedroom and eat at your table. I wonder how many would depart for greener pastures in their native land if the United States adopted a flat tax or better yet, a consumption tax.

Mark up for a national E Verify bill is taking place in the House Judiciary committee this week on Wednesday. this will be the most important step that has been made in a long time to drive out the Illegal invaders and put Americans back to work. This bill if passed will create more jobs for American workers than any ten stimulus bills put together would ever do. When this bill is passed and takes effect hundreds of thousands of Illegals will self deport when they can no longer legally work in the United States. It has already happened in Georgia, Alabama, and Arizona. Illegals have moved out of these states when their recent laws passed, even though some aspects of these laws are held hostage by the courts. E Verify has been upheld by SCOTUS in the Arizona case as regards to employment verification and revocation of state licenses if found to be employing Illegal workers. There are no Constitutional grounds left to challenge a National E Verify mandate. Please call your representatives and let them know now is the time to take a stand and put Americans back into the jobs they had before Illegal workers came and drove down wages and took their jobs. As Americans WE built the roads, bridges, houses, high rises, and all the infrastructure this country has. Illegal labor did not do these things WE AMERICANS DID THEM !! WE CAN DO IT AGAIN!! . For those who say we cannot survive without Illegal labourers, how did we survive in the past without them? Push them out of the workplace and jobs will be available to Americans and wages will rise once again. A rising tide floats all boats,,, the tide has been ebbing for too long and it is high time the tide came in again. Support for a national E Verify law is support for your Fellow Americans whoever they may be, Black , White , Hispanic, Asian or whatever. This is not about race as some less intelligent , shortsighted and narrow minded people would have you believe. This is ALL ABOUT American Exceptional-ism, Pride , Patriotism and looking out for your fellow countrymen first ! This benefits ALL Americans of ALL racial and ethnic backgrounds. For those who would claim the very thought of putting ones country and it's Citizens first is somehow " Unchristian" I would claim that this IS the most Christian of attitudes to take. Recent polls show nearly one quarter of American Children live at or below the poverty level. These children are all different colors , but the one thing they all have in common is that they are Americans first. This bill will make it possible for many of their parents to obtain work, and hopefully lift them above their current station in life. While we would all like to save the entire world , that is an impossible dream. If I am my brothers keeper , then I choose to help those first with which I share a direct commonality and a Patriotic duty, and that is to me , my fellow Citizens.

So 3,000 bigots want Perry to fix immigration in Texas. That's a joke. How many of these hypocrite Tea Party members hire Latin Americans to mow and clean then pay them less than the law allows? How many are happy to eat the fresh veggies and fruits picked by "aliens". Bet the houses they live in were built by "them". Hypocrisy is the new fashion. Let's all be sure to vote with sober minds and push every hypocrite out of office this cycle. Especially the slimy creeps like David Dewhurst, Rick Perry and Jerry Patterson. Mexicans are part of Texas like it or not Citizens.

also Kerry, If you hate our Texas government so much, why don't you leave?? Say what you want and call people names but the illegals will leave and we will not stop until they do! We are many...more than you. This is our country and we are the citizens that you disrespect at every turn and we will never forget this...
David Spratt
Kerry, Mexicans live In Mexico and that is where they belong. You seem to focus on " Latin Americans." I have never and will never refer to them as " Mexicans or Latins." I define them for what they are Illegal Aliens. They come in all shapes and sizes , colors and countries. One is no different than any other. As far as paying them less than the " law allows" , this absolutely proves you have no idea what you are talking about. The law allows for a minimum wage, ever hear about that? Try and get someone to rake leaves or mow your yard for less than that, and get back with me.

Perry supported welfare for illegal immigrants and health insurance with Mexico while assuring president Vincente Fox that he agreed with open borders!
Relevant portions of the speech:
"Legislation authored by border legislators Pat Haggerty and Eddie Lucio establishes an important study that will look at the feasibility of bi-national health insurance. This study recognizes that the Mexican and U.S. sides of the border compose one region, and we must address health care problems throughout that region. That’s why I am also excited that Texas Secretary of State Henry Cuellar is working on an initiative that could extend the benefits of telemedicine to individuals living on the Mexican side of the border."
"President Fox’s vision for an open border is a vision I embrace, as long as we demonstrate the will to address the obstacles to it."
"We must say to every Texas child learning in a Texas classroom, “we don’t care where you come from, but where you are going, and we are going to do everything we can to help you get there.” And that vision must include the children of undocumented workers. That’s why Texas took the national lead in allowing such deserving young minds to attend a Texas college at a resident rate."

@ Gregory Jones - Well this is one American that does stand with Reform Immigration. Your assertion that the majority of Americans stand with those that wish to wholesale deport every undocumented, no matter the human cost is simply not true. And if the right would come to the table and work for some meaningful immigration reform (e.g. Guest worker) there would be progress. Unfortunately, that would prevent the tea party/GOP to use this issue for riling up the base with some old fashion race baiting bigotry.

Perry would not be a very good President he would pick and choose the laws he wants to uphold. He feels illegal aliens and Mr. Fox are priority over Americans. He made his choice in Texas by signing the dream act of Texas and fighting to keep the fence from being installed in Texas. He also drop the ball on SB9 and e-verify. He thinks he speaks for most of Texans but his time is up.

Are you serious Tanya Flores? My ancestors, Latinos, were NOT 'illegal' by any means.
David Spratt
Tanya, have you ever been south of the border? Your post tells me you are very young and obviously did not pay attention in school. The entire north and south American continent was appropriated by foreigners from Europe,, since that time all land areas located within those boundaries have formed sovereign governments and countries. I seriously doubt you are indigenous. Please limit your comments in the future to issues you have some knowledge of. In the meantime stay in school and we will provide you with a free education courtesy of the United States taxpaye please do not waste my tax $. Please concentrate and try to work on your sentence structure and grammar.

Mr . Curry , We had a " meaningful Immigration refom" in 1986 as I remember. It was alos supposed to be coupled with a " meaningful border security plan." It was known as the Simpson-Mazzoli act:
In brief the act:[1]
required employers to attest to their employees' immigration status.
made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit unauthorized immigrants.
granted amnesty to certain seasonal agricultural illegal immigrants.
granted amnesty to illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously
We all know today how well that worked. IT DID NOT !
According to one study, the IRCA caused some employers to discriminate against workers who appeared foreign, resulting in a small reduction in overall Hispanic employment. There is no statistical evidence that a reduction in employment correlated to unemployment in the economy as a whole or was separate from the general unemployment population statistics.[3] Another study stated that if hired, wages were being lowered to compensate employers for the perceived risk of hiring foreigners.[4]
The hiring process also changed as employers turned to indirect hiring through subcontractors. "Under a subcontracting agreement, a U.S. citizen or resident alien contractually agrees with an employer to provide a specific number of workers for a certain period of time to undertake a defined task at a fixed rate of pay per worker".[4] "By using a subcontractor the firm is not held liable since the workers are not employees. The use of a subcontractor decreases a worker's wages since a portion is kept by the subcontractor. This indirect hiring is imposed on everyone regardless of legality".[4]
Romano L. Mazzoli was a Democratic representative from Kentucky and Alan K. Simpson was a Republican senator from Wyoming who chaired their respective immigration subcommittees in Congress. Their effort was assisted by the recommendations of the bipartisan Commission on Immigration Reform, chaired by Rev. Theodore Hesburgh, then President of the University of Notre Dame.
The law criminalized the act of knowingly hiring an illegal immigrant and established financial and other penalties for those employing illegal aliens under the theory that low prospects for employment would reduce illegal immigration. It introduced the I-9 form to ensure that all employees presented documentary proof of their legal eligibility to accept employment in the United States.
These sanctions would apply only to employers that had more than three employees and did not make a sufficient effort to determine the legal status of their workers.
The first Simpson-Mazzoli Bill was reported out of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees. The bill failed to be received by the House, but civil rights advocates were concerned over the potential for abuse and discrimination against Hispanics, growers' groups rallied for additional provisions for foreign labor, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce persistently opposed sanctions against employers.
The second Simpson-Mazzoli Bill finally passed both houses in 1985, but it came apart in the conference committee over the issue of cost. The year marked an important turning point for the reform effort. Employer opposition to employer sanctions began to subside, partly because of the "affirmative defense" clause in the law that explicitly released employers from any obligation to check the authenticity of workers' documents.
Also, agricultural employers shifted their focus from opposition to employer sanctions to a concerted campaign to secure alternative sources of foreign labor. As opposition to employer sanctions waned and growers' lobbying efforts for extensive temporary worker programs intensified, agricultural worker programs began to outrank employer sanctions component as the most controversial element of reform.
"The following year, Sen. Simpson reintroduced the bill that Congressional opponents were now calling 'The Monster from the Blue Lagoon' because of its eerie ability to rise from the dead. By September, this Senate version had already passed...."[2]
The act was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan. An estimated 3 million unauthorized immigrants received amnesty under the act. A May 26, 2006 New York Times article arrived at the figure 2.8 million: 1.7 million under a general amnesty, plus 90% of the 1.3 million that applied under a special program for agricultural workers
AND HOW MANY DO WE HAVE NOW ? HOW MANY NEXT TIME?

It amazes me how people are so blinded to see how wrong it is to be anti immigration reform. Don't you get it, people can not provide for their families on the low paying jobs so they stay on welfare instead. If employers pay more than minimum wage on low entry jobs ..guess what you will be paying with higher prices for service and product so I guess we can pick up the bill instead of the government. When was the last time you saw a Mexican on the corner with a sign? When they purchase anything here they contribute. If they are living in an apartment they pay taxes to local county hospitals. What happens to all the empty housing?Do you really believe if they are gone all of a sudden people will flock to wash dishes, be maids, work in construction, work in the fields. Do you not understand all of these industries need to keep running and as much as they have tried they can not get workers? They truly work at jobs no one legal wants. I see them as our support system who keep things moving because we are too above to take those jobs. I thank them for building the buildings that we occupy when finished for that nice office job. To remove millions of people would paralyze us, take away SS, Taxes, leave empty apartments, every item bought , food clothes, entertainment, autos, everything would suffer. How ignorant you all are to think we should get rid of people who contribute both physically and financially to our country.
David Spratt
Lisa Galvan.
"If employers pay more than minimum wage on low entry jobs ..guess what you will be paying with higher prices for service and product so I guess we can pick up the bill instead of the government."
Your misconception is not unique. You are included in a vast number of Americans that perceive the " Government" is some autonomous entity that provides for all from a source of funds that is inexhaustible. Your statement makes no sense. There is no " WE" and somewhere else a " Government. WE Are the GOVERNMENT. WE pay regardless.
"Do you really believe if they are gone all of a sudden people will flock to wash dishes, be maids, work in construction, work in the field"
I work in Construction and have for 25 years. Obviously you do not. To answer your question , YES people would " flock" to take back these jobs. The only reason they left them in the first place was because wages were driven down to the point they could no longer support their families. Labor as with anything follows supply and demand. Oversupply by millions of Illegal workers and their willingness to work for substantially less lead to a 30% to 40% decline in wages. I do not know what you do for a living but I seriously doubt you would be willing , or able to take that type of decrease in earnings and still be able to live the way you are now.
There is without a doubt a need for seasonal migrant labor in the agricultural industry. Americans are not prone to be willing to move about following the crops. The problem arose when The migrant and Illegal population moved out of these industries and took over jobs that more stable non-migrant Americans were doing. Who washed dishes , cleaned houses, built homes and offices before the Illegals ? Migrant workers have always been around , and probably always will be needed. The problem is they have and they are displacing American Citizens from jobs they did do and would do again if they were paid a decent living wage to do them and did not have to compete with a workforce willing to undercut those living wages. Construction is a very large % of the economy and the disruption to wages in this industry has affected ALL Americans. The saying " A Rising Tide Floats All Boats" is very true. The tide has been on the ebb for many years due to the influx of this cheap labor. You may see yourself apart from the Government and the system as a whole. You are not apart from it , you are it and it is you.
Lisa Galvan
@David Spratt
You obviously are the one mistaken. When I say "we" I mean it will literally come out of our pocket. If we are to have entry level jobs exceed minimum wage then all prices will go up and the consumer will pay more. You are living in the past, times change we also used to have black slaves. For a while Italians were at the entry level. I know first hand as an owner how hard it is to get help, I am not just deciding who's perception of this is correct ...I LIVE IT!!!!! It is a nightmare. People can not provide fully on minimum wage they need more , I always paid more than minimum wage and I still could not get help. It is a real problem that exist, people here would just as soon stay on welfare....not all, some would just as soon stand and beg on the corner I hear by some stories they do pretty well. It is easier for all the people to moan and groan then to go out and apply, do you blame them..they would lose most benefits.
John Holladay
Lisa Galvan needs to read the WHOLE Bible - like Rom 13, and not just take selective pieces. One sin/crime means all are broken. Failure to abide by one is failure of all commandments.

Lisa also needs to remove her head from the dark place - the last signs we saw Mexicans carrying were massive in Calif. They want to take California and the rest of the border states and make them part of Mexico.
That and burning the US flag and total disrespect for the US society.
Lisa Galvan
Really so which part of the bible do you choose? You are right a sin is a sin and we should forgive as we are forgiven unless you think that is not true. I am not here to argue. It is a very big problem I know, but if we keep with the direction of doing it ourselves it does not seem to be working. I do believe anything so negative as this issue seems to stir up is not of God. The devil is loving this and singing, dancing, and saying boy did I get them away from your way!
Dennis Scharp
Lisa Galvan - What this country needs to do is abolish 90% of the welfare that is given out to the slackards in this country. That may also drive down the cost of goods sold in the country so that decent folks could earn their bread by the sweat of their brow and thereby feel proud of their labors.
My bet is; a good old fashioned depression would do the United States more good than harm.
John Holladay - I would like to see the experiment of giving California back to the Mexican Government. My bet is, it would be a giant Tijuana within 10 years, cardboard cities and all..
John Holladay
Dennis Scharp - ref giving the left coast back to Mexico.
What on earth makes these Mexicans think taking California & Texas back to Mexico would make things any different? As you say, within a short period they will make it like TJ.
On and on – they will screw it up just like they have in their own county.
Lisa Galvan
Amazing how things can get so misconstrued with just a handful of people. How in the world do you unravel so many debates on this......you can't, we can't, no one can.....!
Dennis Scharp
Lisa - unfortunately "it is what it is" and there is no magic "RESET" button. The current administration truly suck and the GOP establishment isn't much better as evidenced by who they seem to be backing in the current "conservative" group of candidates. Romney is just a good ol' boy who the GOP believes "It is his turn" (politics as usual) and Perry is just another career politician (again, more of the same). Who, with the exception of Herman Cain, has told us in the debates what their plan is and I don't think any of them have told us their definitive implementation steps to make their plans come to fruition. If this doesn't happen soon, there will be absolutely no one in either party worth our vote.
C Baker
@Lisa Galvan.....You say that all of the Americans on welfare won't take the jobs you have to offer...
The fact is that if you are hiring illegal aliens, you are paying them cash or they are using my grandmother's SS number...That being said, with their anchor babies, they are taking the cash from you and at the same time they are drawing welfare, food stamps WIC, Medicaid. While I am paying $200 per month for my child's braces, they are getting them for free, while I am paying health insurance premiums of $850 per month, they are getting it for free...while I am paying $85 per month for my child's school lunch, they are getting that and breakfast for free. etc...........................
The fact is that you and people like you are what is destroying our country! So you can sit on your xxx and make big bucks off of the backs of your own personal cheap labor while us Americans foot the bill!
John Holladay
C Baker - right on.
Many need to know the "whole" issue.
Steve Smith - you also sir, right on.

Back to Perry....
Time after time he has turned his back on us Texans...
He sucks us in just long enough to get re-elected and then he kicks us to the curb.
He is a Democrat, he has always been a Democrat and he will always be a Democrat....
He only changed parties for the huge donations which he would have never gotten otherwise.....
The fact is that he would open up our borders, more than they are, in a minute.
His schemes with Fox run deep. He has turned his back on Texans time after time. We Texans had to stop him from opening up the flood gates into our country with the Trans Texas Corridor. He sold us to Mexico and was ready willing and able to take our lands rolling out the red carpet for Mexico.
We had to stop him!
He is a pig and a liar

Thank God people are awake and Perry is going to loose the attempt to become President. Honestly I would vote for Perry if it comes down to Perry or ObaMa .
Dennis Scharp
I just hope it doesn't come down to R'INO'mney and Smiley. I'm so sick and tired of having to always vote for the lesser of two evils.

You Want CHANGE? Vote RON PAUL! 2012! time we get back to the CONSTITUTION!
Dennis Scharp
Ron Paul beats the stuffings out of Romney and Perry, but will the GOP allow him to be the GOP candidate? I think NOT.
C Baker
Ron Paul is too soft on Illegal Immigration..otherwise he has some great ideas on the Federal Reserve and upholding the US Constitution. Just can't take another one who won't secure ther border...no wall/fence for Ron Paul...ugh
John Holladay
Ron Paul for Sec Treasure.
Rick Perry for dog catcher.

Texas Governor Rick Perry has faltered on the illegal immigration issue. It is not a matter of heart; it is a matter of protecting our sovereign nation and our economy. The real “2006 Secure Border Act” a double fence would require access infrastructure along the perimeter to lay roads, between the fences. These same access roads could be used to properly patrol those rugged areas by armed military, deployed to assist the US Border Patrol in very dangerous areas.
As Ron Paul sharply stabbed in a few words and said with open clarity about illegal immigration “"no free education, no subsidies, no citizenship" for illegal immigrants.
My Guess Ron Paul would definitely agree with a first step, to get the illegal alien occupation under control using E-Verify. Lama Smiths E-Verify “the Legal Workforce Act" is here with perfect timing as illegal immigration has exploded in the debates. At the very least, it is a step in the right direction. Even if E-Verify have some flaws and some illegal aliens are able to obtain employment, it won't last very long. Those hired illegally will be apprehended eventually when the irregularities are corrected. It's better to have something as a deterrent, than to have nothing at all.
IT CONCERNS MILLIONS OF TEA PARTY MEMBERS, WHY HAS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION NOT TREATED AS A FELONY?
Of course the usual radical voices are raised, as critics opposing this Historical Immigration Bill, H.R. 2885 are searching for any loophole to drag it down. They are using what inflammatory rhetoric or lies they can muster against the passage of E-Verify “the Legal Workforce Act." First they contest it that legal American workers could be turned away in being hired. So that person just addresses that grievance by going to their local Social security office; illegal aliens will stay well clear of this agency. None of the media will inform their readership of this? Learn more information at NumbersUSA. Other websites that will deliver the facts about the criminal element, with wide ranging access to the E-media is American Patrol. @C Baker It's Rick Perry who said he believed in open borders and wanted health insurance for citizens of Mexico because it's 'all one region' in his speech to Vincente FOX... Ron Paul wants CLOSED BORDERS.

@C Baker: The fence won't work if we continue to give free edu, College tuition, birthright citizenship, food stamps or welfare to illegals. Then we wouldn't need to build a fence as someone else here noted. PERRY ON THE OTHER HAND, signed the incentives for people to come here illegally and also won't build a fence so which is worse?
If the first part, denying those services to illegals doesn't work, THEN you could consider building a fence and I'm sure Ron Paul WOULD seeing as he is a doctor and has GIVEN free services to people out of the goodness of his heart.
C Baker
The fence is South Texas is finished already. It is helping to funnel illegals into areas Border Control can manage.

This TEA party confronting Rick Perry again trying to force their own personal rules and regulations. Is Perry scared of this confrontational lunatic fringe? Will someone try to run against him from this skewed faction of mankind? Boehner is getting a TEA party-er to run against him! Should we make hay of this? Joann Fleming is full of herself and is obviously corrupted! This economy with all its failures and shut downs belongs to the current 112th Congress! America is hurtling towards another GOP governmental shutdown due to governmental gridlock with no substantive foundation as the amount is1.5 billion or less than 1/10th of 1%! This shutdown will be caused by the "No not ever" caucus led by the TEA party caucus holding the GOP leaders and the House along with the federal government hostage. At stake are fundamental disagreements of the Congress which has 12% poll numbers and declining! And the "No Foundations Contenders" stumbling towards nomination to run as the Republican nominee! This segment vying for the brass ring are led by boxed in Rick Perry and Mitt Romney, flip-floppers and wobbling front runners followed closely by seven seeking TEA party approval and nomination! America does not need this confrontational, antagonistic attitude in Congress! America needs discussion and compromise! This will never happen with TEA party controlling our GOP! TEA party wants to control every aspect of our lives from where we worship to which doctor we use, much like the Taliban or Al-Qaeda control Pakistan or Afghanistan. Wake up Texas - Vote!
gypsy314 ne
The tea party is why were are going to turn the country around we are sick of the same old crap and you guys had your chance look were we are. So but out go vote for Obama unless you have had enough of him. Besides if you are not illegal alien you are second class.
gypsy314 ne
Face it we have been played from every rhino and democrat that supports pro illegal immigration. I say we take there jobs from them next election.

Last nights debate underscores why Rick Perry should not become our next president. While I give him Credit for sticking to his position and respect for it. First of all , the People of Texas did not vote to give Illegals in State tuition or grants for college which they also receive. The legislature did. He stated the to be eligible you must reside in the state of Texas for three years and graduate from high school in Texas. There should be a clause that you " legally reside" in the state of Texas for three years. He said that those who have signed a declaration that they are " in pursuit of citizenship" would be granted this exception. THERE IS NO PATH TO CITIZENSHIP FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS ! How can they be pursuing legal status when no mechanism exists for this? By their very nature and definition they are illegal and always will be. They may very well wish they were citizens and they may hope they will become citizens, but there is no possible way they can " pursue a path to citizenship" being Illegal Aliens. He was also quick to point out that if we do not do this then these children will " end up on the government dole." How do Illegal Immigrants " end up on the dole?" By my understanding they are not entitled to any dole what so ever. We as taxpayers have already " doled" them a K thru 12 education courtesy of a 1982 Supreme Court decision that came out of Texas, Plyler V. Doe, and Texas vs. certain named and unnamed alien children . By their very nature and definition they are not entitled to any dole at all. He further states that anyone who would deny them these opportunities to be heartless. This is the same mentality and ideology that has created a vast welfare system stemming from the ideas promoted in passing laws and regulations during the formation of " the Great Society." He has taken those arguments and applied them to a new class or underclass further expanding on the idea and premise that there is or should be a sense of " white guilt", or perhaps simply American guilt regarding the apparent discrimination towards these Illegal children. He proposes a new affirmative action , which has been proven to be a failure and an impediment to advancement of minorities. He claims that somehow we owe these children a moral obligation , despite the fact they are residing in the country contrary to our law , and if we do not do this , then we will owe them a further obligation to provide for them in other ways , also in conflict with the law. Perry as well as Dewhurst seems to focus on and mirror in their opinion the recent directives of ICE and Homeland Security. He only mentions " Criminal Illegal Aliens" , cartels, gangs ect as being of any concern. This is the sole focus. He as well as Dewhurst seem to ignore the " garden variety" Illegals that simply come here to seek work and displace American Citizens from their jobs by driving down wages. these are the Illegals he seeks to assist and fulfill their dreams of a better life while ignoring the impact it has on Americans already here. His support for the sanctuary bill only had to do with the criminal element and was put forth to work in concert with the Secure Communities Act. Perry had no interest in average illegals, when putting forth the call to pass this bill. And when it became apparent , to him anyway, that he was going to run for president , he abandoned it. He thought it would take away support in areas he needed, and as well he may have just realised it would enable Immigration to locate and deport many so called " harmless" illegals, along with the criminal element he intended it to target. This is Perry's weak point. He confirms that he is in fact a social liberal. The majority of Americans nationwide do not agree. Be it known that IF elected , Perry would pursue the same course on the national level. He feels Americans have a moral and ethical obligation to assist Illegal Aliens in their aspirations for a " better life." Perry really believes that we " owe" these people something and if elected he absolutely will make every effort to see they get whatever they want. This is not about " Mexicans" even though Perry does favor the Hispanic community on this issue. Perry sees an integrated Texas Mexican border that is defined as to it's absolute boundary as regards the separation of Mexico and the United States sovereign territory , but with regard the movement of people, goods, trade, and the general welfare of both sides, he sees no border at all. This is why he opposes the fence. He sees the fence as a physical barrier that would in effect denote , that is your side and this is ours. He does not view the border in those terms. Only crime and the criminal element are of any concern to Perry as far as the border goes. It is his belief that everyone else , other than criminals, are welcome. For this reason alone if no other, Perry id not the right choice for the office of President of the United States.
gypsy314 ne
We have already paid for the fence and people like PERRY block the fence he and his rhino buddy's want the cheap labor. Since I hear today 80% of the jobs went to illegal aliens and legal immigrates just 20 % went to Americans
C Baker
The fences down in the Valley have many gaps because of the snake like winding Rio Grand River..Most of the lands on this side are private farm lands with the exception of one park which the coyotes have free run of...After that they're in the US and they traverse through the tens of thousands of acres of oil fields, ranch and farm land...It's a no man's land with no law that is totally out of control...One ranch posted recently that out of a group of about 25 caught by Border Patrol, there was one hispanic who was Honduran and the rest were from India and China.....Think we need a wall now?
That was on just one group out of the thousands of "groups" that get across every day.
Gadsden Gurl
@Vincente The tea party does NOT want to control every aspect of your life, but Obamacare and all his agencies and czars already do!!!! You have it upside down.
Gadsden Gurl
@Rudy -- correction... Yes calling us the Taliban will get you nowhere.
We already have a terrorist in the WH taking all our liberties away - his name is Barack Hussein Obama!

Simply put we cannot afford to take in any more people at this time legal or illegal. It is not just a question of Illegal immigration that presents a problem. Legal immigration to this country also is starting to have a negative effect , despite claims by Obama and others that we " NEED' these immigrants. Even to the most hardcore thoroughly indoctrinated left leaning Democratic Socialists this should seem to be a puzzling statement. With unemployment being what it is , one would wonder why do we need more workers when there are not enough jobs to go around as it is? Are all Americans currently out of work and looking for a job totally unfit for any occupation? Perhaps the reason is that Americans do not want to work and we need these workers to supply income to the government so that non-working Americans can be supported. Certainly , according to the current regime these workers are needed for some practical reason. Most rational people would find it hard to justify why these additional workers are needed.
If you owned a farm , and you had enough people on that farm to preform all tasks needed and necessary for the continued function of that farm to supply the needs and wants of the people living there. Why would you invite additional people in? There would not be anything for them to do. They would , in fact deplete resources from those already there. Even considering the fact they could perhaps lessen the load on those already there , and they would have to work half as hard, the amount produced would in fact be the same. Therefore everyone would receive half as much. This farm is finite. You have no room for expansion. Your land area and the load on the land in terms of the number of animals it will support and the crops that can be produced are at maximum. It would therefore defy common sense to take in additional workers or mouths to feed.
In this global economy , age of technical advancement where information is disseminated around the world at the click of a mouse , the United States is no longer the the only country in the world with the ability to manufacture and produce goods. As basic economic theory goes, this is the only way to economic prosperity and the creation of wealth more commonly referred to as Capital. The production and transfer of goods and services is the engine of the economy. Even at the basic level services are obtained and paid for by the production of actual goods. This being said , how does the government , as an entity, figure into this equation? The government produces no goods what so ever , and can pay for nothing until it takes that money or Capital from someone else who has produced goods. One could argue that Government provides services. Services are paid for through the production of actual goods. Could this be the reason for the insistence of government that we need more workers? More workers in the eyes of the government equate to more taxation thus greater revenue. This is also LULAC's plan for the saving of the Social Security program. Their position is that more workers , legal and Illegal, will contribute more revenue to the fund therefore insuring it's survival. They , as well as the government, seem to ignore one small issue. Where will all these people be employed? As with the hypothetical farm we appear to have plenty of available labor right now. Additional workers will only dilute the resources available now. If all individuals work half as much this will not increase production nor revenue. Currently well over 100,000 people a month come into this country under various visa programs. Just to stay even and maintain unemployment at current levels we would have to create this many jobs per month. HOW MANY WERE CREATED IN AUGUST 2011? 0 !!!! If the legal immigration is having this type of effect on the country , why should we turn a blind eye to the Illegal immigrants ? This country has reached a point that immigration on all levels needs to be addressed and programs put into place to insure that the economic security of Americans is not compromised by the continual flow of immigrants legal or otherwise. Immigration should be based on whether or not allowing a particular person into the country advances the interests of the country and it's citizens first and foremost , and not simply because it advances the personal wants or needs of that person being admitted.
NumbersUSA is an excellent resource to find out what the real truth is. As their name suggests , you can see the numbers for yourself. They are not made up and most come from the government itself. Unless action is taken , and soon, we will be beyond the point of no return. No one faults Immigrants for their desires , wants or needs, but the reality of the situation remains. It is concievable that in the future many Americans may find themselves in the same position as the immigrants themselves do today , if nothing is done.
C Baker
Very good analogy David!
Steve Smith is completely right!....We have been invaded not only from countries directly south but from all over the world....Word is out all over the world that it is easy to to enter this country illegally. The criminals of the world know this too! The first line is our borders...Wall it, fence it, electrify it. We have no other choice anymore.
