Santorum Blasts Perry in Denver
DENVER — Rick Perry drew direct fire from a potential rival Friday night when GOP presidential contender Rick Santorum attacked the Texas governor’s recent comments about how far states can go in setting policies on gay marriage and abortion.
It was the first time Perry, who is assembling a cadre potential donors for a likely presidential race, has come under sustained attack from a GOP White House contender.
Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, criticized Perry three different times at the Western Conservative Summit, where both are speaking to conservative activists. First, before a book signing event, Santorum told reporters he ...

ah yes, the desire of the repigs to legislate morality.

Both parties improperly attempt to legislate morality.

It is your business to destroy the American family Mr. Santorum?

LOL Santorum didn't blast anyone, would be closer to say Santorum whined about Gov Perry in Denver. LOL as for you silly libs you should be happy Gov Perry is fine with letting each state decide-as was said about something, fine vote with your feet, move to where it is legal. You gotta kind of feel sorry for Santorum the only way he can get name in paper is by tying it to Governor Perry.
Erica Bozovich Hart via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Even if that's true, Rick, which I disagree that it is.... The repigs are far more guilty of it than the Dems. and they're much bigger hypocrites about it too
Erica Bozovich Hart via Texas Tribune on Facebook
not that dems aren't hypocrites...all politicians are... but the repigs definitely take the cake on that one

Rick was quite the lady-killer on his younger days. I find his austere "morality" amusing, if not completely sickening

My family just fell apart because some dude married his husband in New York. </sarc>

Dim and dimmer. Wow.
Robert Blain via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Is he trying to say that it's the job of the federal government to destroy the family?
Linda Childs via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Robert - That's the impression I got, too.

Perry & Ssntorum. Now THERE'S a broad crossection of American society.
George Altenbaugh via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Perry is definitely correct on this - the Constitution does not grant the federal government the power to regulate marriages - but let's be honest - neither party has any desire to limit the federal government to the enumerated powers. We always talk about the bill of rights, but can anyone even paraphrase the 9th and 10th? Funny how they aren't taught in the schools or discussed on the talk shows.

This should get interesting. If Perry enters the race, it will be the first real, full-contact election Perry has been through since his last race for Lt. Gov. Can he take the heat?

Santorum's comment is so hilarious because it sounds like he's saying he (in his position) *is in the business of destroying families*!

Frothy Santorum is a GOP presidential contender? Who knew? I'm guessing he's got as much support out there as Newtron Gingrich. Zero.
Dale H Curry via Texas Tribune on Facebook
I love it! Two merchants of hate now hating on each other. May I suggest pistols at dawn. @ Marcus Aguilar - Perry and Santorum may not be a broad crosssection of American society, they are two brialliant examples of Re-thuglican theocracy.

Perry is a sellout. A trans Texas Corridor pushing, land grabbing, sovereignty selling, Bilderberg attending, Logan Act violating, cancer causing vaccine pushing, non border protecting, phony conservative, that will continue to sell the American people down the river.
Paul has a 30 year record of fidelity to the Constitution, fidelity to his wife of 50+ years (ehem...Rick? not so much). He is the ONLY military veteran, with the MOST contributions from the military both THIS time and LAST time. He's the ONLY doctor. He's the ONLY economist. He the ONLY one who is honest and has a record to prove it.

Of course Perry is not going to take questions; he cannot think on his feet and you will never see him in a debate! He has a lot of catchy phraces like "Texas, Texas, Texas!" but his statements are not his own. Perry does not care about the average, hard working citizens, he DOES care about his rich cronies who pad eachother's pockets. He does not care about the education of our children either. Look at the education of Texas children and the money spent on education - Texas is 2nd from the bottom of the United States. Texas still gives Illegal Aliens free education, the Illegals are profilic breeders and they have all the free children they can to over take Tx. with their culture and fill our prisons, they receive welfare checks, free food (SNAP), free WIC for all their children, free and housing incentives, they trash up our highways and neighborhoods, kill and rape our innocent, break into our homes and rob our citizens, drive cars with fake Texas Vehicle Inspection Stickers and go to our schools and yet refuse to learn to speak English so they all get special teachers who teach in their language. Is that what you want for your next President? If you do not care about our own citizens, taxes, our disabled veterans, the old and helpless, Social Security, Medicare, education, drugs coming into our country, or the filth coming and multiplying like cock roaches, then vote for him.

@Burning Feet,
Go pick up your Welfare Check and food stamps, and good job on having all those kids on welfare, food stamps, Snap, Wic, free lunches, free school, housing incentatives, etc.! I just hope the American Taxpaying Citizens do not have to continue supporting your offspring in prison too. You give out too much information on other sites when you get mad, so you are becoming famous for taking from Americans; when will you ever start giving back...I already know the answer to that one - NEVER! That is why you people come here Illegally. Oh I know, I have heard it from you before...it cost too much to become a legal Immigrant. Wish I could afford to have as many children as I wanted but I had to work to support myself my children. Yes, I've heard it before, you are racially missunderstood but you are the racial one who thinks America owes you more, more, MORE and no matter how much we give to you, it is never enough. You people sure know how to hold your hands out - "gimmie, gimmie, Gimme MORE"! You have no shame! I know, you are going to scream "RACIAL", and "KKK". JUST BECAUSE ONE DOES NOT WANT TO SUPPORT ILLEGAL ALIENS DOES NOT MAKE ONE A RACIST! one does not want to support ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT. Become an immigrand, pay your fair share of taxes, support yourself and your offspring, stop defending yourself with your hate filled racial remarks and I do not care where you come from if you are an American Citizen and not a taker of our country of milk and honey made by our forefathers with their blood, limbs, lives, sweat, tears, and taxes.

Annette, writing a hate filled rant demanding an end to hate filled rants? Priceless.
Anyone interested in putting Annette's rant into a historical context should check out the article in Wikipedia on Nativism (politics).
