Actress Eva Longoria, one of just two Texans to grace the Democratic National Convention stage on Thursday night, made a heartfelt pitch for President Obama in a message largely aimed at young voters.
She described growing up in Corpus Christi and taking out student loans to attend Texas A&M University-Kingsville, debt she paid off by changing oil at a mechanic shop, flipping burgers at Wendy’s and teaching aerobics.
“As I travel the country for the president, I see young Americans of every background fighting to succeed,” said Longoria, a co-chairwoman of Obama’s re-election bid, adding, "We’re ...

Why don't you stop asking the government to take people's hard earned money by force, allow them to keep their entire paycheck and give the people the ability to spend their money how they choose?

When did freedom and liberty become a foreign concept in this country?

Jason -- to answer your question -- when the Founding Fathers communally agreed on a democratic constitutional republic. C.f.,
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

What, Jason? What are you talking about?

You mean the Constitution that Obama is destroying. I don't think the founding fathers meant for it to be twisted and destroyed. As a Latina, Eva Lonogoria DOES NOT speak for me. She is a failure at her Catholicism. We are praying for her!

jason…if you kept your entire paycheck, you would find it hard to pay for all the services your's and your neighbors tax dollars provide, such as fire and police protection, highways, education, etc. and god help you if you lost your job...

Hillary says she is leaving anyway,,, win or lose, Maybe Obama can replace her with Eva?????
Probably be as effective as appointing Shakira to the education council,, Just think of the immense store of wisdom and solutions to major policy issues bottled up in those two !!

@ Jason Stradner - the only threat to freedom, democracy, and liberty is the republican/tea party zealots intent on disenfranchising minorities, according to three Federal Judges, two of which were appointed by Bush. Good try Jason, perhaps you can go scare some dementia patients with stories of death panels and Obama's so called socialist agenda. So, Foghorn, seen Big Foot lately?
Frankly, everyone with posts about Obama attacks upon Freedom, democracy, and liberty need to go take your meds. Such statements are at best, delusional paranoia, or at worst, a deliberate attempt to delude the public and bear false witness against the President.
Personally, I find Ms. Longoria's story compelling and consider her a state treasure. As to her comments at the convention, she was quite eloquent and very convincing. Personally, I would love to thank her for hours of laughter and enjoyment with her career.
Obama 2012!
