New Perry Ad: "I'm a Doer, Not a Talker"
Gov. Rick Perry's campaign is broadcasting a new ad in Iowa starting today that implicity denigrates Barack Obama for being "slick" and using a TelePrompter and explicity promises action instead of talk.

Ronnie was the great communicator. FDR had his fire side chats. The President has the pulpit. Who needs a President that cannot communicate with the citizens.

The defining feature of Homo Sapiens is language. Homo Erectus and Homo Habilis were also doers and not talkers. Our first cave man president...

Ya this rhino is a doer he puts illegal aliens before his own citizens. We must not settle for someone like this doer who does for illegal aliens over Texans. We must look at all sanctuary cities and shut them down they breed a message to all law breakers our laws do not matter come one come all. We need to send a message to all employers you will go to jail and loose you business license's. We must also send message to our leaders Americans citizens first. Look Mexico has fail its people and its country it has default on many issues and demands our courts puts our border agents in jail for doing there job. Sad thing is democrats support the Mexican government over there own citizens. We should all know were we stand with the democrats and the rhinos.

And, uh, I think most Presidents used teleprompters for speeches, n'est pas? I mean, right?
Carrie Alison via Texas Tribune on Facebook
As an Austin person, that has been a rumor. The "passionate speech" recently left me wondering anew.
Lee Dunkelberg via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Pres. Obama uses a teleprompter and knows how to use it and can still speak extemporaneously.
Boy George Bush? Not so much.
He shamed the Tehadists soooo much they are grasping at straws to discredit the president (who actually was elected and not court-ordered by activist judges).
Lee Dunkelberg via Texas Tribune on Facebook
By the way, what Perry "does" is almost as incomprehensible as what he says.
Cynthia A. Dolen via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Which one of Idiot Perry's asses is bigger? The one in his pants or the one between his shoulders?
Neil Moyer via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Perry has a .45 for a mouth, and a peashooter for a brain...

This is one of the funniest, most intelligent threads I've ever read. Y'all are brilliant.

Then stop talking, please!

He does have a particularly irritating voice...and one can't make heads or tails of what he's saying.

PERRY: "I think Americans just don't know sometimes which Mitt Romney they're dealing with. Is it the Mitt Romney that was on the side of…against…the Second Amendment before he was for the Second Amendment…was it was..before he was before these social programs, uh, from the standpoint he was standing, uh, for Roe vs. Wade before he was against Roe, uh, Roe vs. Wade…uh…he was…uh for Race To The Top…
Uh…[pause]…he's for Obamacare and now he's against it…I mean, we'll wait until tomorrow and, and, and wait to see which Mitt Romney we're really talking to…
Better that he not speak. I would anticipate the policies he pursues are equally cogent. He doesn't need a teleprompter, as he has a large donor whispering in his ear telling him what to do. The above is what he says when he doesn't. It isn't pretty.
Richard Salvucci via Texas Tribune on Facebook
What he does is even scarier than what he says, if that's possible.
Jim Hsu via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Perry NEEDS a teleprompter to remind him that TX is not in the midst of a "Miracle." It's running a $27 BILLION deficit.
Carol Bradley via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Yeah, we've heard him talk. Let's remind him that a President pretty much needs to be able to talk and to do it well. Can you imagine RP running a cabinet meeting or having a useful conversation with a head of state?
Billie Veach via Texas Tribune on Facebook
He has ruined Texas now he wants to ruin USA. Doer not a thinker.
I think first before I do things to make sure they are not against the
law..Perry feels he owns Texas..Like King Perry.. somehow he was
able to take the tax at the well head of each unit of gas/oil that
has always gone to the Permanent School Fund to the General Fund.
The feds money for Ed & hiring school teachers to GF. And I think
the Lotto money also.. how can you do this??? we had laws against
it... The only talk he can do is to tell people to take money from
places that he shouldn't. I don't remember hearing any speeches
from him these last 12 years when I stopped and thought about it.
Billie Veach via Texas Tribune on Facebook
What did he say that was not true !!! had to take it off ..had to be a
reason... If all of the people on tv saw it why can't we???after all
we know him...?????
