In Pennsylvania, Perry Calls to Energize America
West Mifflin, Pa. — If Rick Perry was once a jobs candidate without a jobs plan, he is no longer.
At a steel mill outside Pittsburgh this morning, the Texas governor called for "a 'made in America' energy revolution."
Looking to turn the corner after a series of flat performances at debates where he was attacked for offering little substance but many sound bites, he delivered the first major economic policy speech of his campaign.
He unveiled a proposal he said would create 1.2 million jobs and "rebuild the engine of American prosperity" focused on increasing domestic production of the ...

Nothing more than "burn, baby, burn."

That make/buy - buy/make intro made no sense whatsoever just like the rest of his speech today.

I'm all for American made, think of the jobs it would create. However, there's no way Perry would do a good job of implementing such a thing. I'm sure his idea of buy/sell American really just involves pumping money into the hands of more of his cronies under the pretense of creating jobs and bettering America and our economy. Let's not forget, he also said we needed to deregulate everything. So I'm sure part of his strategy is to allow the environment to go to hell so we have no clean air, water, soil etc

It's basically rehash of "Drill Baby Drill." As soon as all 50 states hit oil like Texas, we won't care if the rich aren't paying their fare shares. Brilliant!

And remember to save a pretzel for the gas jets!

Sell to the world but only buy from Americans? The world will pay us with what, renminbi? What will we do with them? If we only "buy American", the only thing we can use renminbi for is to pay other Americans for there stuff with them. Sure, we could insist in being paid in dollars when we sell to the world, but where is the world going to get the dollars to buy from us with? (Only when Americans buy "from the world") Stupid half-assed political rhetoric.

hmmm, i remember our President also making a promise to bring American jobs back from other countries to the United States, campaign promises are a bunch of bull, manufactured to get elected, then forgotten.

Perry is a liar. He will say anything to get the yahoo vote.
Fouling the air and water isn't an economic plan. It is obvious why he got a D in Principals of Economics at a&m college. (it ain't Harvard!)
He lies about Obama ever time he mentions his name.

I heard him today.and heard him mentioning New Drilling in Alaska w/
girlfriend Palin.. it has been studied and there is not enought oil
that would repay us to put another pipeline there.. Do you know
where our Alaska Oil goes NOW???? Japan.. no refineries on the
West coast.. Canada hit a big well.. make a deal.. we once got
oil from Mexico when we treated them like a neighbor and not
wanting to go in starting a war with Mexico.. also, Texans, it
has always been that the tax at the well head was charged, sent
to the General Land Office and their department audited the
papers somewhat like IRS.. all the money went to the schools
and school children.. Under Rick Perry it has changed to go
into the general fund.. we need an audit of every agency
in Texas.. outside auditors/ no pals.. It appears that Perry would
do what he wanted to do with or without the legislature.
hope I am wrong.. but I believe my source..

End energy specific tax credits? He's going to take away Exxon's subsidy? I don't think so.

We in New England don't wonder. The lobotomy solution to public education in Texas makes it difficult to contemplate an alternative.

An infinite reservoir of oil in our continent? On a flat earth, the truth is plane to see. When oil really runs down and gas costs $10/gallon, how will we maintain our cities? Our food distribution? Our agriculture? Our transportation? Perry's superstitious ignorance reminds me of the medieval peasantry.

I was wondering - how many non-government jobs has Obama created?
