Disappointing Night Leads to Trip Home for Perry
The evening didn’t start well for Gov. Rick Perry. He was in fith the moment the first results came out, and he stayed there throughout the night. But his Iowa campaign co-chairman, Bob Haus, remained optimistic early in the evening.
Audio: Ben Philpott's story for KUT News
“I think it’s important to remember this is the first step in a very long process," Haus told reporters. "I think regardless of what tonight’s results are, he’s laid down plans to go into New Hampshire do the debate, go into South Carolina and start campaigning and he ...

"he’s laid down plans to go into New Hampshire do the debate....."
Ricky does debates like hogs do dancing. I can't wait. Don't let him quit.

I hope Perry stays in.
Anyone but Obama!
Remember a vote for a democrat is a vote for Obama and illegal aliens, homosexuals and terrorist.

poor Scary Perry - yeah not so much - hear the sarcasm?

Does this mean all the TX reporters following Perry around can come home to cover news that's actually happening HERE?

Give it up Rick. We all know you are not presidential material. Hardly governor material. Stop spending my taxpayer dollars on this charade. Perhaps we could spend it here in Texas where you have corrupted everything from education, social services, honor, integrity...you name it. I never heard you speak while working for this state. Once you started debating I could'nt believe my ears. I have never experienced someone so totally full of themself, while being a corporate money making politician. Perhaps you could also come out of retirement and give those double dipping funds back to those who need them. I am disgusted and ashamed.

Shelley, I totally agree. Did anyone else notice that on Dec. 30th the Statesman actually put in the paper..."tonight is the last night of the Zilker Trail of lights." HUH? Pulled that from last year? We, ah, didn't have a Trail of Lights this year. Funding must have gone to Rick, and I will not renew my subscription to a paper that continually has 3 day old news, weather that speaks mostly of past events, and celebrates something that no longer is an option for Austin. No news is good news!

OK, one more and I'm done. gypsy314 ne, put down the koolaid. You are surely not this totally brain blown!

The best thing about Perry's campaign in Iowa is that it kept those scoundrels in his "Strike Force" out of Texas for a few weeks. Perry's performance showed that he is merely a focus group - poll following mouthpiece with no real agenda other than reelection. He forgot his lines in the debate.

Hey, y'all see the news? Shelly pulled the plug on her braindead campaign. Who next will it be?
Ricky and Shelly up in a tree, Q-U-I-T-I-N-G!

I think Rick Perry should walk away while he can. At this point, he has no momentum and really does not represent our state in the manner he believes he does. This has been a self-centered effort that has cost our state tremendous resources and he has not really demonstrated speaking talent nor has he commanded the issues facing our country. I was thankful last night after hearing him speak that he would show some grace and walk away. Presidential material he is not.

He'll be there for a while now, I imagine...

He better stay away from New Hampshire.
We might block the tolls from him.
Don't do kindly to Child Beater abettors, here in these parts.
Stay home Texas fool.

He's coming back to Texas? There goes the neighborhood...
