Saying that one is "to the left" of another is very much akin to comparing, say, Genghis Khan's humanitarian instincts to those of Attila the Hun.
None have been within navigational distance of sanity since before Raygun took office; anyone who drifts that way even in the mildest rhetorical sense will be destroyed by any means necessary. Fortunately there are none within the party that would even know where 'left' IS....
