Leppert Takes Mayoral Record Into U.S. Senate Race
Tom Leppert was a virtual unknown on the Dallas political scene before 2007, when he beat 10 other candidates to become the city’s mayor. At the time, he insisted he was focused on the city’s problems and not on higher office.
While Leppert was mayor, AT&T moved its headquarters to Dallas, the crime rate dropped and major projects that had been stalled for years moved forward.
In February 2011, with just four months remaining in his four-year term, Leppert resigned and began a bid for Kay Bailey Hutchison’s U.S. Senate seat. For his critics, the ...

I hear so much garbage about GOP senate candidates: is there a democratic candidate this year or has Texas become a one-party state?

Blah, not a fan.

Too bad Leppert didn't stay at the helm in Dallas, which is in desperate need of good leadership.

I knew what his agenda was, too. Make money for himself and his friends, and get into higher office to make even more money and power for himself and his friends. I personally witnessed him lie over and over again.

Yes, Luisa, there are Democratic candidates. The one I recommend is Sean Hubbard.

The bottom line on Texas' revolving door of career political candidates continues while Texans suffer the consequences. Texas needs "Initiative and Referendum" on every passage of laws from the Texas Legislature to approve or disapprove legislation coming out of Austin. The massive number of one-sided laws benefiting the few stinks. We need TERM LIMITS and INITIATIVE AND REFERENDUM to slow the bigots from painting Texans as bigots. Change your state color and get everyone to the polls and allow them to vote. Will the general public see the skewed views and principles these fringe believers? We'll see in November who and how many will make their voices heard.
This is your country and your representative should represent you. If you think Congress needs changes, new blood, people who represents you and not special interest or puppeteers like Grover Norquist, then get involved, go to meetings, get registered, vote and get out the vote.
I recommend Sean Hubbard for the Senate.

Republicans running for any office are all lying.
We have to pick from one of the liars???
We used to have a great State. Some Republicans and some Democrats.
It seemed to work a hell of a lot better than what we have now.
There is a glut of gas now. Reported in the Houston Chronicle. An unprecedented amount of stored gas in this country. And in this State. Of course you knew that.. And announced last week our electric bills will be higher by fifty-sixty percent as soon as August. How in the world can anyone explain that.
Republicans are strangling us.

The only problem is, the people that would likely vote for democratic leaders for some reason don't actually go out and cast their vote! Which is very unfortunate.. so we continue to get the same sleeze balls that we have always had.
