Dewhurst Booed Again as Texas GOP Convention Wraps Up
FORT WORTH — Two days ago GOP activists booed when Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst’s name was mentioned. On Saturday, they booed him in person.
It happened when Dewhurst, who is locked in an increasingly bitter struggle with Ted Cruz in the GOP race for the U.S. Senate, was attempting to describe his opponent — in unflattering terms — during a brief speech to delegates Saturday afternoon.
“This runoff is a clear election between a lifelong conservative businessman, a conservative leader, a Washington outsider,” Dewhurst said, “and a lawyer who is funded principally by Washington special interests.” It was a clear reference ...

What happened to civility? They can disagree without the juvenile antics!

Conservatives in Texas recognize that David Dewhurst is nothing more than Kay Bailey Hutchinson with a penis. We're ready for a change.

Gregg, did you Dewurst's mud-slinging, lie-filled last-minute ads? Might want to address your questions of civility to Dewhurst. The booing was pretty muted- until he tried to take credit for passing the Sanctuary City and the TSA groping bilsl, when we ALL know that he helped kill both with parliamentary shenanigans. We aren't the fools Dewhurst took the convention goers for.
The visula support- in the forms of stickers, buttons, signs, etc.- was over 80% for Cruz; for Dewhurst it wasn't even 10%. The WAS the GOP's rank & file.

Crowd: "Booooooooooooooo"
The Dew: "Brunson, are they booing me?"
Brunson: "Um No. They're saying Boo-hurst, Boo-hurst."
The Dew turns to crowd: "Are you saying 'Boo' or 'Boo-hurst'?"
"Boooooooooooooooo" [crowd throws flag pins and clever anti-Obama signs]
Perry: "I was saying 'Boo-hurst.'"

I've been going to GOP conventions since 1976 and NEVER has a crowd been as unenthusiastic for a major officeholder as they were for Dewhurst- or Straus.

My observation of Dewhurst is that he is a life long RINO, based on his record and a lifelong surrender to Democrats and call it comprimise advocate. I have this quote from a life long lover of America ""If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

My take is that, while I am NOT a Tea Party member, Dewhurst will never recover my vote for this primary. His negative ads and paranoia indicate to me he is trying like crazy to buy another office. If he had taken the high road we would have not even had a runoff. But that mess makes the entire party look bad and proves that we didn't learn a thing from the Democrats. Ted Cruz will never be a person that goes to Washington to "negotiate" with anyone. I really think he will vote his mandate. Hopefully he will have the opportunity. I despise people that play the "RINO" card, though. If you do not like people being in your party then vote them out, but it is not for you to decide who is a conservative or not. Dewhurst, for all his faults, has been in the most miserable place in the state. Lt. Governor is no longer the powerful position it used to be because of the persistent blockers of the senate. Until that policy is changed then nothing is going to make the body less liberal.
