Cornyn Elected U.S. Senate Minority Whip

Also on Wednesday, Cornyn's Texas counterpart, Sen.-elect Ted Cruz, was chosen as National Republican Senatorial Committee vice chairman. The NRSC works to ensure that Republicans are elected to the Senate.
In a statement immediately after the vote, Cornyn said, “I’m honored to have been chosen by my colleagues to help lead our caucus during such a critical time for this country."

Big John has been toadying up to McConnell at every opportunity since 2003. It's nice to see his fealty rewarded with a position that is not too far over his head.

Peter's Principal at work, sigh. He advocated deficit spending by the NRSC - that is the GOP bait/switch.

I think no more then three terms for anyone office should be law. Other wise we end up with folks like John Cornyn and John Mc Cain

John Cornyn should fall in line and get back to the center and compromise on the "Fiscal Cliff" as the TEA-Republican's lost decisively in the presidential elections. John Cornyn must realize his party is being phased out due to it's positions outlined during the primary and election cycle. If John Cornyn does not rethink possibilities, he is in for a real shocker. His RNC position on the re-election committee proved he is just as out-of-touch as the rest of the TEA-Republican's. John Cornyn's TEA-Republican's have indeed moved so far to the right, they fail to see trees for the forest. John Cornyn and TEA-Republican's fail themselves and their party by not coming to the table and conversing, criticizing and compromising on issues that effect the entire nation. The TEA-Republican fringe have directed and called the shots, which in the end brought down their candidates across the nation. It will be up to the membership to analyze their positions on a multitude issues of face the consequences in more swing states. And you can take that to the bank!

The feeling on the Hill is that it is ludicrous to reward someone who together with Senate Minority Leader McConnell botched the senate election campaigns so badly that instead of taking over the senate for the Republican Party, as was expected, they lost additional seats. He must have a powerful mentor somewhere. Ted Cruz's selection should make the nation's Cuban-Americans very proud.
