Attorney General Greg Abbott has fired the latest salvo in the state’s battle over the presence of international election observers, this time in a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
On Tuesday, Abbott warned the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, a division of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, that elections observers could not circumvent Texas’ election laws and enter polling places. He promised to prosecute anyone in violation of state law, including observers who come within 100 feet of polling places. He added that he wasn’t sure “what [the OSCE’s] monitoring ...

I thought Greg Abbott was worried about election fraud. Seems like these international observers would be looking out for fraud. Hmm

Not surprising. Abbott's running for President of the Reformed Republic of Texas, and flipping off those OTHER countries ought to be good for a few million in contributions and at least ten percent of the vote...

What Banana Republic is he in again?

Does he understand that reported irregularities could invalidate the voting results for Texas? Apparently they left out the Civil War in his history classes.

It appears Abbott is allowing voter intimidation groups, like True the Vote, into polling places while threatening international observers. He is a hypocrite and an embarassment.

Greg Abbott has "stepped in it" as Rick Perry said. With outcries from the extremist TEA party about UN Observers, this so-called lawyer for Texas has cowed down to the few fringe elements of the TEA-Republican party in Texas. Obviously, Greg Abbott has no cahunas to stand up for the rights of Texas and in fact cowards his way to their views. Career politicians in Texas must be excised next election. Confrontational TEA-Republican's are the bane of the problems we have in Texas.

What civil war Joseph? There's never been one in the US, there was a War of Secession, more accurately called The War Of Northern Aggression wherein certain states seceded from the US and formed their own country as allowed by the US Constitution and which was subsequently attacked and invaded by said United States led by the anti-constitutionalist Lincoln and his gang of the inappropriately named "Republicans" who effectively gutted destroyed the American Republic which consisted of a group of sovereign states united by mutual consent into a federation.
This was back when their national motto was,"E Pluribus Unum", from many, one.

And just where was his office in the TWO class-action lawsuits against LCD screen manufacturers for price-fixing? Nowhere to be found by HIS choice, so each and every Texan (individual and business) who purchased a TV or computer laptop or desktop monitor with an LCD screen during a significant number of years was excluded from any compensation from the settlements.

Yet he finds time, energy and money in his elected position to rail against all manner of politically-inspired idiocy with little true value or relevance to the public interest? What a worthless Attorney-General this man has been!

Dear "My Liberal Look At Politics From Waco" - Yes, the AG said Misimpression. It is a word, http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/misimpression. Liberals loves education, I just wish they would partake in it a bit more.
