On Wednesday night, I sat down with four leading intended Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated in 2013 by Kay Bailey Hutchison. Participating in the forum, which was co-presented by the Tribune and Austin public television KLRU, were former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz, Texas Railroad Commission Chairwoman Elizabeth Ames Jones, former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert and former Texas Secretary of State Roger Williams. The topics discussed included Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan's plan to reform Medicare, immigration, the fight over health care and the relationship between the Tea Party and the GOP.
