Competition Breaks Out in Ron Paul's District
One of the state’s 36 congressional races is a real, true, honest-to-goodness competition, according to the political maps, the candidates, the consultants, the activists and everybody else who’s paying attention.
Another 34 districts were designed to protect incumbents, the parties that now hold them, or both. Weird things happen in politics all the time, but barring the unexpected, those are set. The lawmakers who did the designing got what they wanted.
Then, there’s the race in the state’s 14th Congressional District — the place opened when U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Lake Jackson, decided he wouldn’t ...

And meanwhile, the Tribune only makes mention of the other two candidates by name only. This is not a two man race folks.

Weber is willing to do or say anything to get elected. This is the man who co-sponsored the trans vaginal ultrasound bill, who tried to let college kids keep guns on campus, who got the majority of his earlier campaign financing from Bob Perry and Tom Craddick. It's worth turning out to vote either for Lampson or against Weber.

I've been covering this race for Burnt Orange; good luck to Nick he's a great guy and a statesman. I used to work for him when we represented the 9th Congressional District and we had a great constituent service record. And, he was into non-partisanship way before it was cool.

The article was about this being a competitive race, mentioning their names and linking to more info about them is plenty justice.

It's a chance to defeat a really bad individual and get an experienced member who will help his constituents. Lampson is far superior.

When do Texas voters get a little smarter about what Republicans have done to create damaging state issues? During the past 10 years Rick Perry has "wheeled and dealed: for his special interests. The only reason the Texas economy has not plummeted as the rest of the nation is due to our oil industry and tech field. Perry fights and speaks against Federal Government intrusion into our daily lives, yet Perry does the very same thing on the state level. He is the highest paid part time special interest Governor in the U.S. It's time to get rid of him and the "disturbed" Republican machine that mismanages our state.
Republicans have had plenty of time to build jobs here in Texas and to create a better life and environment for hard working and hardly working Texans. They have failed and they try to blame the Obama administration for hard times. In truth it took several decades for everything to fall apart.
I am a long time Republican, but the current party platform stinks like week old fish. It's time for a big change in Texas and the only way to do that is to vote out the old regime and put in a new one.
