The candidates get just 140 characters for each post on Twitter, the popular microblogging site, but their short dispatches do reveal patterns over time.
Take the tweets published by contestants in next's year's GOP primary for governor: Incumbent Rick Perry and challengers Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and Debra Medina.

I'm afraid Debra Medina is just this election's, "One[Tough-Grandma" substiture whose sole purpose is to divide and conquer so Perry can slip by Kay and get elected with another 39% of the electorate. I'm just waiting for when she's going to decide, like Gma, to become an independent and pull minority (Hispanic and women) votes away from Kay, making it easier for Perry to squeak to another victory for his well connected corny campaign contributors and friends like Grover Norquist.
