Perry and White Will Face Off for Governor
Gov. Rick Perry and former Houston Mayor Bill White claimed their parties' gubernatorial nominations Tuesday night, and the incumbent Republican will face his Democratic challenger in November's general election.
U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison conceded the GOP gubernatorial primary, congratulating Perry on his 11th consecutive statewide victory. White, meanwhile, had enough votes to call an early victory over Farouk Shami and five other Democrats, declaring, "We're gonna have some fun, and Texans are going to come together." Of course Perry has it all wrong. Barely half of Republican voters have yet to tire of Perry's corruption and crony politics. His positions, ie. TTC and inept mismanagement of state government make him unacceptable to many in his own party. Their dislike is so strong, many of them will hold their nose and vote for White. Come November, every Democrat will be primed to go to the polls to vote Perry out of office. There are many examples of Perry's mismanagement for Bill White to go after. We are at a historic moment when Dems can assume sorely needed leadership!

To follow up on the previous comment, Perry's pandering to the willfully ignorant in order to beat Hutchinson should also give a boost to Bill White if he positions himself well in the middle. Perry's ties to the tea party and Palin will turn off many in his party.
