Bill White Behind 3 GOP Gubernatorial Hopefuls
The Rasmussen Reports poll that had everyone yakking late yesterday contains still more fodder for conversation: If the election were held today, all three Republican candidates for governor — Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison, and, yes, even Debra Medina — would defeat likely Democratic nominee Bill White. KBH wins by the biggest margin, 49-36. Perry would defeat White 48-39. And Medina, who trailed White last month by six points in a similar Rasmussen poll, would now beat him 41-38.
A dollop of consolation for White: Of the four, he has the largest positive gap between the percentage of Texas voters who view ...

I question the legitimacy of this poll when only 12% of voters view Medina as highly unfavorable.

Evan, I am more of a glass half-full guy. I think the headline should read: "2010: Former Houston Mayor Known to Only 25% of Texans within 9 Points of Perry with 9 Months to Go"
Nine months before his first Mayoral election, he was polling 3%.
Things change.

The omission of facts in this article is blaring. The people who are called republicans are the ones who were asked. This Rasmussen poll didn't ask democrats or independents or undecided.
It is irresponsible to spin a story by omitting that important bit of information. WHO was polled is insightful.
White will win DEMOCRATIC nomination and popular vote. Why would you ask republicans if they would vote for someone running on a democratic ticket!???

Editing of this story is needed to specify that republicans were the ONLY ones polled. This isn't an inclusive poll or accurate picture of everyone in Texas.
