Every day it seems we can't pick up a paper or access one online without bleak news confronting us. New York State may face bankruptcy by Christmas. California is sending out IOUs to its creditors to avoid defaulting on its credit lines. The federal government is swimming in trillions of dollars of debt that our children and their children won't be able to pay for.

Why don't you just admit that the Texas Way is the same as the Republican Way - stall every bit of legislative business in order to make the President look bad? This Republican Congress has used the threat of filibuster more than any other in history. This Republican Congress watched over 200,000 Americans lose their unemployment benefits, while they dragged their feet to make the President look bad. This Republican Congress holds up the simplest of confirmations to make the President look bad.
So, now comes wisdom from Texas Republicans - who gave us George W. Bush, the Texas Republican who started two bungled wars, gutted the Constitution of the United States, and fiddled as the economy burned down around him.
Texas Republicans - the party of zero credibility.

My, how quickly forget it was George Bush and the Republican controlled Congress that failed to regulate while special interests got away with murder and took the country from a surplus to near depression in 8 short years. Guess what Cathie, we aren't as short and simple minded as you'd like to think we are. Republican's got us into the severe mess we're in. We aren't going to be fooled by your rhetoric again.

Do not forget who started this debate, the health insurance companies wrote a letter to congress asking for universal care and to force people to buy insurance at whatever price they wanted to charge. ******* These companies know they are going out of business, that more companies plan to drop care, shifting costs for uninsured more and more to the employers that are left. ****** So if you do not think your health care is at risk wait till it doubles due to other companies dropping their care. ****** So blame the democrats if you want, no I do not like the Pelosi bill, but remember who opened this debate up and who stands to gain or loose the most by shaping the debate, our friendly insurance companies.
