Video: Perry Not Interested in VP Spot
Gov. Rick Perry appeared on Fox News today to discuss voter ID politics and to reiterate his lack of interest in being the running mate to whoever becomes the Republican nominee for president.
Instead, Perry again voice his support for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
"He is a clear proponent of the 10th Amendment," Perry said of his former opponent, who wrote the introduction to his book Fed Up!
And what about all that talk about Perry possibly running for vice president?
"Let me see. Texas governor versus VP? The balance on that one isn't even close," Perry said ...

After all, he's already retired in his current position, why would he want to go to work now?

Praise the Lord! (no, not you, Ricky)

He said exactly the same thing -- multiple times -- before he declared to run for the presidency! So HAH! Who the hell believes him?

Don't know why, that's as close as he'll ever get to the White House...

Same thing Biden said.

I hope he is not lying, again!
K.t. McLeaish via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Of course he'd rather stay here, the people here are dumb enough to keep electing him.
Lee Dunkelberg via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Why not? He'd have nothing to lose, as he always could fall back on his "day job" - or his every now and then job.
Maybe it's time we start a movement for a law that says you have to resign your state office in order to run for a federal office, especially if you're already retired.
For that matter, it's also probably rime for a law that says you can't be a retired elected official and serve as a paid elected official at the same time.

Or a brain-dead public official, for that matter!

Obama already had a VP.

Not certain, but I do believe he doth protest too much.

He certainly gets to have a bigger head where he is. And anyone who chooses him for a VP would be proven brainless.

It's our last chance to get him the hell out of here!

Looking forward to the Perry-Biden steel-cage vice presidential debate, co sponsored by CNN and UFC, on pay-per-view this October.

There's a third alternative, which is in the power of the voters: neither.

And there in that one word is the problem - gig. The job of governor should be full time. Not to say it shouldn't be enjoyed but the main goal is not ad libbed entertainment it is to care for the people of Texas and the state. Do us a fav, Rick, and pretend you're a medical doctor: first, do no harm.

no hat, no cattle, and no brains.

See, you have to be prepared to be President in order to be Vice President. Even Republicans don't think lil' Ricky is prepared for that job.

I hope not because he supports illegal aliens over Texans.
Anyone BUT Obama and democrats!

He had the entire country sitting on the edge of their seats, and now the disappointment is so overwhelming Republican faithfuls are flying their Confederate flags at half mast. It is truly a crushing blow, and the timing is painfully ironic. Mr. Perry's contribution could have been his entire collection of more than 600 original Etch-a-Sketch works of art - masterpieces, according to one six-year-old boy who has seen them. When asked about his attraction to what has also caught Mr. Romney's attention, the governor thought for about fifteen minutes and then said, "Well, the medium is plastic, it's red, and it is lightweight."
Well said.

In Perry-speak, that translates as " I can't wait to be asked".
