Rick Santorum.. how hard is it to figure out.. He is the Best Conservative Candidate in the Race. Give him Full Republican & Conservative Backing and HE WILL WIN!!!
Dave Mundy via Texas Tribune on Facebook
"Movement conservatives" -- that means the RINOS and the religious fanatics, not the rest of us.
Ron Blancarte via Texas Tribune on Facebook
How to find one? Easy, let the primaries run their course.
Oh wait, you mean you DON'T want your only electable candidate (Mtt Romney) to win the nomination. Well shoot, I don't know what you do then.
The GOP is just plain sad these days. I look at this gaggle of candidates, and only one of them has better than a snowball's chance in hell. Yet the base seems to aim to set out to lose the next election. I don't get it.
"Congratulations, you just nominated the most conservative candidate you could! And then soundly lost the election 3:2"
Tim Thurston via Texas Tribune on Facebook
I thought that's why we have primaries and conventions...
Allen Michie via Texas Tribune on Facebook
In olden tymes these kinds of things were decided by "voters."
Riley LovesJoy via Texas Tribune on Facebook
@Taylor: As a senator, Rick Santorum voted to raise the debt ceiling multiple times. He voted in favor of expanding the federal government's role in both medicine and education. He supported pro-abortion Arlen Specter who ended up helping Obamacare pass. --- The list goes on as to why Santorum is simply a wolf in sheep's clothing when it comes to being a true conservative. To call him a conservative would require the words "Big Government" in front.

Perry is from a&m college; 5th place is considered a win.

Tim and Allen; how quaint. I suppose you think things are different on the Democrat side.
There have ALWAYS been big players behind the scenes in BOTH parties; always will be. You string together a list of endorsements from the 'big hitters' and it carries weight (not to mention financing and organization). Such things matter because people voluntarily heed their advice- or don't.
Russell Stone via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Can they truly override the primary voters voting? Just injecting someone at the convention will only serve to push the GOP futher to the extremes.
Dave Mundy via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Y'all say "extreme" like it's a BAD thing. Extreme is the only thing that can repair the U.S. now. But go ahead and nominate a Romney or a similar RINO. Texas will be independent within the year.
Tom Walker via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Republicans who say RINO are SMALL TENT REPUBLICANS. They will exclude themselves from the middle where most Americans are.

It's people like Santorum, who represents the TEA division of the TEA-GOP-Republican party, wanting to impose their skewed fringe concepts down on other people, no-matter-what! No one, including cities, counties, parishes, states or the federal government have the right to force their religious views onto others. Period. Birth Control is the right of every woman and her doctor only. Period. This is how extreme the TEA-GOP-Republicans have gotten under the stewardship of Eric Cantor and Paul Ryan. This TEA-GOP-Republican nomination road-show shows how desperate the TEA-GOP-Republicans are. they scrape the bottom of the barrel for their nomination and now they have a trilogy. A week from now we will be talking about New Hampshire, two weeks from now, we’ll be talking about South Carolina and three weeks from now we will talk about Florida. It has been very entertaining since they started dancing. And Judson Phillips boldly declared, “The Tea Party will never rally behind Mitt Romney.” The "Anyone but Romney" crowd have help splinter the once proud party of Lincoln. Then there is the GOP, the party of Teddy Roosevelt, which was once progressive to the point of "Trust Busting" and increased regulation of business. Now this portion has squandered their opportunity to effect great legislation. Then there is the Republican section, once proud Reagan-ites whom have been seriously compromised by the other radical divisions and therefore failed to produce any jobs legislation they ran on in the 2010 election. Once proud, now split and leader-less they wander all over the country seeking solace from those just as split. It has been one very entertaining primary season. We need to stay with a true leader - President Obama!

It is tantamount and expressly important that every registered voter in every state get involved in their state's electoral process at every level, local, state and nationally, and make an effort to clean out the Toxic Erratic Activist(TEA) Party. If the fringe element runs locally and the state level governments, they have greater control of the issues directly effecting everyone in their city, county, parish or state as well as nationally. If you don't like how the party of "NO" has held the Congress hostage, vote. If you are not registered - get registered. If you didn't vote last cycle, get involved and vote. take part in local and state level politics, because the Toxic Erratic Activist(TEA) Party has taken over local and state politics. They want control of the federal level now. It is the extreme faction of the already skewed fringe creating mayhem in non-passage of jobs production legislation. Any job legislation sent to the Senate has enough poison pill attachments to make sure it never passes the Senate. Wake up America - get involved and take your country back from this fringe element.

Santorum obviously represents the warrior faction of the TEA-GOP-Republican parties. Threats and false innuendo creates enemies all over the world as baby boy Bush proved. He started two wars that were not paid for and this Santorum wants to take us back to his era of worldly concepts. These Yayhoos are too full of themselves to realize the consequences of taking on another war just because. Someone like Paul make more sense than Santorum on this, and I don't trust Paul at all. It is tantamount and expressly important that every registered voter in every state get involved in their state's electoral process at every level, local, state and nationally, and make an effort to clean out the Toxic Erratic Activist(TEA) Party. If the fringe element runs locally and the state level governments, they have greater control of lives and the issues directly effecting everyone in their city, county, parish or state as well as nationally. If you don't like how the party of "NO" has held the Congress hostage, vote. If you are not registered - get registered. If the GOP DOES nominate an extreme right nominee, that will pretty much guarantee that President Obama serves another 4 years.

The frustration comes from knowing that nobody in the GOP can beat 0bama why don't you hire Hillary she might
Neil Moyer via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Hey, how about the ticket of Phil Gramm and Bill Archer, they're funding Tea Parties, SuperPac campaign ads, and would represent K St. in DC mightily???
Bill Bush via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Reminds me of famous story of Larry Bird walking into the locker room before the three point shoot out, and asking 'which one of y'all is coming in second'? In this analogy Obama is Bird.
