Your afternoon reading:
- "The future politician did not distinguish himself much in the classroom. While he later became a student leader, he had to get out of academic probation to do so. He rarely earned anything above a C in his courses — earning a C in U.S. History, a D in Shakespeare, and a D in the principles of economics. Perry got a C in gym." — Rick Perry's College Transcript: A Lot Of Cs And Ds, The Huffington Post

Wow. Those are remarkably poor grades.

I would be so afraid to go home and face my parents if I had gotten grades like that.

Until the President releases his transcripts, everyone can STFU.

The grades aren't as important as integrity. That's where Perry flunks out.

Looks like his academic record is on par with his governing record. And how you get a C in gym, of all things, is beyond me.

Look, I'm no Perry fan, but grades someone made in college 30 years ago are pretty much irrelevant. Opponents who focus on things like this will tend to lose the credibility they will need to convince others when they have valid and meaningful concerns about his more recent actions. Let's focus on what really matters.

This certainly explains his antipathy toward educators, and his low grades in certain classes make the thought of him being President scary at best. To me, this is of more concern than his participation in The Response. I'm hoping the Republican party will look elsewhere for a candidate.

The D in economics explains alot about his budget priorities in the last session - laying off thousands while maintaining a $10,000 per month rental mansion is not the best way to stave off another economic downturn.

I'm with Scott, the morons in Washington DC are scratching their heads - wondering why 400K new jobless claims are coming from. One word - education. Texas alone cut 25K teachers (source TCTA). This is the time of year when teacher's salary runs out from the previous school year. Do the math. Add in the secretaries, bus drivers, maintenance and janitorial already cut - education has made well more than 50K unemployed in Texas alone. That's costing the state big time now, and will in the future as kids get a substandard education from overcrowding. Thanks governor with a D in Economics. Good job.

By the way.....has the current president released his transcript yet? Or did I miss something?
