DNA Test May Tie Morton Case to 1988 Killing
Travis County authorities are investigating an unsolved 1988 Austin murder that they suspect is related to the 1986 murder of Christine Morton, for which her husband, Michael Morton, has been in prison for 25 years.
The developments could bolster efforts to exonerate Morton — who has steadfastly maintained his innocence — and help solve the mysterious killing of Debra Jan Baker, which has haunted her daughter, Caitlin Baker, nearly her entire life. She was 3 years old when her mother was bludgeoned to death in her bed.
“I’m happier for Michael Morton at this point,” Caitlin Baker told The Texas Tribune ...

This is just the tip of the iceberg. www.wilcowatchdog.org has also been following this story in great detail. The details of this case speak for itself. John Bradley is protecting Ken Anderson, the former DA now District judge in Wilco. You have Mike Davis, the former second chair of the case who is now a private attorney and close friend of the County Judge Dan Gattis who are both embroiled in an illegal billing scheme. You have Bradley and Anderson, both employing a convicted felon to run their campaigns. It's all on the wilcowatchdog.org in detail. Hopefully, justice will prevail in this case. Maybe it's about time someone steps up and runs against Bradley. He has proven this is about him and securing a convictions at any cost and not about his oath to seek justice. If this case were reversed and DNA evidence PROVED a person was GUILTY, he would use the evidence in a heartbeat. Since it is to exonerate a person convicted by his good ole boy friend, that just can't happen.

I echo the sentiments of the Watchdog. This County's voters have maintained a blindly partisan Republican regime in Williamson County since 1990. The local Democratic party has failed miserably with voter outreach and has depended on the National DNC platform rather than sticking to local issues. But there is hope. The Sun City voting block that controls and sways all elections in Williamson County has been alerted to the shenanigans of this group and it does extend beyond the DA's office. The Republican party will right itself in March. If anyone steps in against Bradley, they will win. Good ones remain like Jana Duty, who has been instrumental in exposing the malfeasance on the Commissioner's Court, and Deborah Hunt and Suzanne Brooks. But others will carry their secrets out of office.
The state of Texas will be owing Mr. Morton a huge sum of money and whatever it is will not be sufficient to justify the gross miscarriage of justice in this case. As a Williamson County Citizen and voter, I owe an apology to Mr. Morton and this woman. I am sorry for your pain and suffering and know that no amount of money or verbiage can assuage the anger you feel or the heartache you have endured. Thanks to the Tribune for picking up this story....where do I donate?

Again with Bradley. This man not only should be discharged from his office as DA, but should be brought up on charges before the state bar association. He has successfully blocked the investigation of the Willingham conviction and execution in an effort to protect Perry. Now it is disclosed that he withheld evidence during discovery. So much for ethics and seeking justice at Williamson County DA's office.

Debbie Baker was my husband's aunt. I pray they have found something that will bring this family closure.

Shame on Bradley and prosecutors who use tactics like this. Bradley needs to be removed from office ASAP. Thanks, Texas Tribune, for reporting diligently on this case.

Take it from the father of a 1975 murder victim whose killer has never been identified let alone prosecuted: there is no such thing as closure for the family. Resolution, maybe; but never closure. Banish that word from the vocabulary of murder.

Bradley, please come on out and explain yourself. Ditto for Ken Anderson.
