Dewhurst, whose ONLY source of money is Austin PACs and the Big-Money influence buyers, really must think the primary run-off voter is dumber than they are. Cruz has tens of thousands of small donors, Dewhurst has MAYBE low hundreds. The PAC money that Cruz gets is from those FIGHTING the machine; Dewhurst IS the MACHINE- who wants to be a big cog int the DC professional political class.
