• Perry defends Dewhurst as ‘solid conservative,’ blasts Cruz-backing super PAC as focused on inside-Beltway politics (The Dallas Morning News): "Gov. Rick Perry on Monday morning gave a full-throated defense of the conservative bona fides of Senate GOP hopeful David Dewhurst and also blasted Club for Growth, the main super PAC supporting rival Republican Ted Cruz. 'Craft me a conservative with a more conservative voting record than David Dewhurst, and we can have a conversation,' Perry said after he and Dewhurst cast early votes together at a South Austin Randalls supermarket. I don't get this whole "let's not politicize the issue of gun control"! Bunch of wimps! Who decides how guns are controlled... politicians!

Guess it's never a good time to discuss this issue if we leave it to the politicians....I'm ready to talk about it.

We should only discuss issues when there's no problem

When is the right time then? When another Gabby Giffords incident occurs? When a dozen more people die in another similar shooting? Another Columbine? Why is it not appropriate to debate gun restrictions but okay for Republican politicians to ask why no one in that theater had a gun and/or stood up and took the shooter out? What is it about the Second Amendment and the gun rights lobby that no one in this country in a position of power has the balls to stand up and say that it's time for a change?

Ridiculous.

Any time a mass-killing gunman tragedy happens, wimps like Dewhurst here always claims it's NEVER good time to talk about it....because it always highlights their losing argument that we need assault rifles and unlimited rounds of ammo available online, without background checks, to be "free."

People need to arm themselves and realize that we have to protect ouselves at all times. This is America and this type of stuff has been going on a long time, since the birth of america, enough to know that there are people who are going to do bad things and that society should have the knowkledge and the power to fight back anywhere in any situations, quit being punks and use your 2nd amendment right, or you can just rely on the police. You see that alll they did was show up after the damage was done..

Not now??? Then When. If they talk now, they will lose popularity. It's urgent that they tighten and change the laws...

Except that if he didn't have guns, he would have used explosives. And of course the criminals will still have guns. Why is everyone always so willing to gain a little peace but lose a lot of freedom?

Big balls in cowtown. Dismissing gun control by the village idiots peri & duhurt is typical of non-thinking, for personal gain only politician. Better to just keep your mouths closed than show the world what you are.
