I strongly disagree. Governors must be superb managers. They can usually pick up the foreign policy stuff along the way. U.S. senators leave much to be desired. Obama was the first one since JFK was elected in 1960. He has proven himself to be utterly incompetent.

Looks like she's still vindictive after 2010!

In my opinions senators do not make the best governors or presidents. Get over it Kay. Governors have the executive experience. Something a lot of senators never "get"...

Oh David, just make crap up and hope it sticks. Obama's foreign policy had been awesome. He has repaired much of the damage and utter failure of the Bush administration.

KAY BAILEY--BABE you overstayed your time. You need to sit back and relax. You muffed your last two shots.

So David, you would like a competent governor like Dubya or Perry? Bush and Reagan, another GOP governor, are at the heart of what's wrong with our economy. Thank God we've had a competent president, I just wish the Congress was interested in helping more than the upper 1%.

The Perry boys R out N force 2night. Next they're gonna embellish the foreign policy experience of Romney-Ryan. Can U C Russia better from your porch N MA than Alaska?

Unless you've been POTUS before, there's on the job learning for even the best & brightest.

Last senator to become prez was JFK, generally regarded as weak/lazy senator...

You know who makes for lousy presidents? Politicians.

What about FDR, one of the greatest presidents ever? KBH was a great cheerleader, but that was about ti.

The problem with governors is that they have lots of local experience, but no nationwide experience. The governor's job is completely different.

With the exception perhaps, of Franklin Roosevelt and his cousin Teddy.....being governor of New York prepares you for it all!

1. Good governors: the Roosevelts, Reagan and Clinton. Bad: Coolidge, Carter and Bush 43. 2. BTW Kennedy was not the last Senator elected president, Obama was a Senator for 4 years, LBJ for 12 and Nixon for 2 (although Obama is the only one to go directly from the Senate to the WH).

So take that, Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt!
