On Thursday, Gov. Rick Perry again drew attention to his his future political plans when he said he still hadn't ruled out another run for president in four years.
"I think we said the door was going to be left open," he told reporters at the Capitol. "But there is a lot of work that has to be done. 2016 is multiple lifetimes away."
But Perry, who may also run again for governor in 2014, wasn't the only ...

I sure as hell hope so. I've had quite enough of the GOP/Tea Party BS.

Ground game? you mean class warfare and free stuff? The results are in. Class warfare was a big winner. It drove millions to the polls. Great news. Now our country can move forward on the basis that taking stuff from others is an acceptable policy. Only one problem. You'll only get to take it away once maybe twice then it's all gone. No so called rich left, no businesses they ran either, no jobs working for them. How's this going to work again. No one even the Obama phone lady thinks this magical revenue will be used to reduce debt.

In order for the Texas Dems to win they need to do this:
1. Produce business friendly policies.
2. Put California Dems at arms lenght.
3. Be engage and bash Hate Talk Radio. (WOAI)
4. Recuirt a Pro life Candidate for Governor.

Maybe, just maybe, the winners don't need advice from the losers this time. We have a new America. Texans needs to adapt.

@Julia: Maybe, just maybe, the Federal election results are rather irrelevant for Texas. That pesky State sovereignty concept and all.

Some people who previously commented need to get back on their medication... The mess we are in was caused by BOTH parties over many many years. To say or insinuate otherwise simply shows you live with your head buried in the sand or have been successfully conditioned by your favorite political party.

I'm waiting on the comment that goes like this " if you don't like it, pack your bags" I enjoy those, shellacked ya'll

@Jose: Very true.
Julia Gregory Poirier via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Ah, a code word, @Gary, so you think Texas can stand independent of the U.S.? Well, let's see what happens with the hurricane or severe drought. Stay dry.

Texas has always lagged behind most of the country, like all the red states. After all, we lead the country in executing innocent people when other states either don't use the death penalty or they've abolished it.

Sergio a win by approx 3 million votes is not a shelaking. The country is divided near 50/50. Keep up the attitude like your party's leaders ; keep thinking you have a mandate and pushing the agenda. That will really be helpful.
It is childishness to assume that close to half of the country is going to just fold their arms and sit back and watch. The Ds had better learn to work with the cons. Pushing them into a corner is not a good idea. As to Texas going blue Dream on.

Julia it could be done. Texas has always sent more money to DC than shehas ever gotton back. But don't worry we would not leave. Texans do not abandon neighbors when they are in need. We will be there to pick up the mess after this experiment of "social justice" faiils. Silly libs. Been tried before aand has not worked out well any place. Most of the failed social experiments are being tossed by the countries that have suffered under them. You folks really ought to get out more often and see the world.

Dallas County has gone solid BLUE for the last four Election Cycles! Texas is changing for sure! Purple 2016! True Blue 2020!
Sergio Hernandez De Santos via Texas Tribune on Facebook
@ Joe, if Rmoney would've won 329 to 202 ( or whatever it was ) YOU would be calling it a landslide, BTW it is the Tea Party is who is blind, and with the Texas changing demographic change a-coming, some people don't like it but its coming

DeLay, delay, delay...redistricting is GOP's last hold on power...

I hope Mayor Julián Castro runs for Gov of TX. He would beat Gov Perry in a huge way. He would have my vote.
David Lee Koontz via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Hah. Never happen. Unlike the federal government, Texans have enough sense to keep such a moron and his lackeys out of office.

I prefer it stays red there is more hope that direction
