With the dust settling around the presidential election, what a second Obama terms means for Texas has come into focus.
As the Tribune reports today, many state agencies and officials have long said that the fate of major issues — like health care reform and environmental regulations — hinges on who wins the presidency.

The people have spoken. We are moving onto a more progressive road, so these state legislators need to get on the bus and embrace what the people want. They need to address what works for Texas constituents, healthcare, immigration, education, because election is coming in two short years & they too will here the voices of women voters, Latino voters, & all of those that sent Romney packing.

Texas Republicans need to get their heads out of the sand - Obamacare is here to stay!!!!! I predict a 2016 presidential ticket of Clinton/Castro - if this ticket become a reality, Texas Latinos will come out & vote in unprecedented numbers - and it will give Texas an opportunity to be a blue state again...

@Jim, so Texas should following along in perpetuating the Welfare State? This Act represents another fine example of people of wanting their health care paid for, by someone. I hope the Texas Legislature shows courage and reject the Medicare Funds. God forbid people should actually have to work to pay for their own services.

Castro ticket? The Latino vote is a different vote than California. I know progressives would love to turn Texas into California. Why I do not know, that state can barely keep it lights on, let alone pay its bills. Second, the moment the corruption out San Antonio is brought out in the open, it will be a much different story.
