The Big Conversation:
Gov. Rick Perry has left his latest mark on a court that already heavily bears his imprint.

I'll interpret Mr Wheat's statement from politi-speak to plain English: This is a governor who can't deal with anyone who disagrees with his extremist positions and likes to appoint cronies who enrich his wallet....

Because he's unintelligent and unable to judge skill. Same thing Palin did. Same thing W Bush did. Tired of these inept Republicans populating our government.

For the Lib posters before me, I submit a name for your consideration: Susan Rice.
No cronyism attached to her possible nomination to become Secretary of State?
Yeah, let's talk qualifications and credibility, shall we?
Oh wait, when liberals make appointments, it's always a higher purpose and grand gesture.
Reminds me of the invective the libs hurled at then-nominee Clarence Thomas, but later steadfastly supported Bill Clinton.
"Yeah, he's a misogynistic, serial adulterer, but he's a 'Progressive' so that's ok."
Hypocrites.
Sickening.

Red Man what is it, listening to Rush or watching Fox News that gives you these opinions? Perry has simply been in office way too long and even musical chairs by Republicans would be better for Texas than four more years of Perry.

Despite being a poor loser Red Man, and most likely a whiney racist...anything perri does weighs heavily on the state and nation. As far as Bill Clinton...DUDE GET OVER IT. Jealousy is the only reason I can find that you bring this up, ad nausaem.

Both political parties are crooked. All politicians are crooks. This type of behavior happens on both sides of the aisle and in all levels of government, local, state, and federal.

Susan Rice is qualified; no one in their right mind would look at Thomas' time on the bench and say he is qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice. It has been said that when Thomas talks you can barely see Scalia's lips move.

Yep! The whole state of Texas has been polarized by the intransigent confrontational tone of Rick Perry and most of the TEA-Republican leadership in Austin. And judge David Medina lost because John Devine said, "I can beat somebody with a Mexican name." and did. This is the bigotry and discrimination that pervades the entire state, and the only thing that can change this discriminatory attitude is to oust every fringe candidate with this kind of mentality. This is the Texas Supreme Court Place 4 that provides right-winged narrow-minded decisions for the elite few rather than the everyday Texan. Wake up Texas! The 2014 Mid-term election is a-coming!
