The Big Conversation:
As Tropical Storm Isaac skirted their convention, Republicans in Tampa narrowly avoided another storm: a Ron Paul revolt.
Following indications on Monday that agitated Paul supporters would try to disrupt the convention, which had already been delayed one day by Isaac, Republican leaders moved to avert a protest that the party feared could divert attention from Mitt Romney.
As the Houston Chronicle reports, Romney supporters and party officials agreed late Monday to pull their support for a 2016 rule change that would have allowed presidential campaigns to select their own delegates to send to the national convention ...

"Agitated Texans" would be more accurate, "Righteously agitated Texans" much more accurate. This has little/nothing to do with Ron Paul. Further, those speaking out including Melinda Fredericks, vice chair and Butch Davis certainly don't fall into the "Ron Paul supporter" camp. We've had these rules fights in Texas for years most notably since 2008 when delegates worked to insure that delegates and not leadership chose convention chairman. This is nothing new for Texas, the depth to which the RNC is stooping, quite another matter.

I agree, the agitation comes from how Romney and the RNC are treating the delegates. Regardless of who you support, these actions by the GOP should be admonished.

Yay Texas delegates. The Republican mantra of If you don't like the results, eliminate the vote was pulled on their own members. Ron Paul may not represent the party line, but he has a large base and does not deserve this blatant disrespect.
