Erica, Good question. Kind of like someone being a gay or Hispanic Republican/Teabagger--makes no sense whatsoever.

Impassioned supporters? More like ignorant supporters. Folks who also believe the Earth is less than 10,000 years old and early Man spoke to snakes. The Texas gov is a classic politician who is not at all concerned about pandering to the lowest common denominator of stupidity in order to get their vote. His main competition will be the Bachmann looney toones. Would not surprise me to see the other looney toone Palin begin a rubber chicken circuit for Perry. For a heafty speaker's fee of course. Just one more opportunist taking advantage of the rampant stupidity in the American electorate. We know how far gone is the Republican party when House speaker Boehner leaves in a huff one of the debt ceiling discussions and immediately talks with Boss Limbaugh for support and guidance.

Rick Perry has'nt done anything for Texas veterns, My husband can't even get his benifits with Lung cancer, or go to a doctor because they are either hundreds of miles to a hospital for exrays, or counceling. Texas needs fixed first , and Perry hasn't even tried. Veterns don't fall for it.
