Texans are hammering away at Barack Obama for failing to secure our borders and for refusing to put forward a comprehensive immigration-reform plan, but the number of federal prosecutions for "illegal re-entry" has quietly skyrocketed under his administration.
U.S. Department of Justice data obtained from the Transactional Records Access Clearing House shows that prosecutions for attempting to enter the country after having “been denied admission, excluded, deported, or removed” are on pace to surpass 37,100 for the year, an increase of more than 1,200 from 2010. What's disturbing, Fernando, is that you seem to have a problem with the increase. I, on the other hand, am pleased that these people with no regard to the law, are being removed from MY country! Did you expect the US to start condoning illegal entry into this country?

This is probaby a part of Operation Streamline which costs alot of money; gives them a record and then deports them but who knows if its stopping them from returning either. This is just a small fraction of the illegals caught too so its not really helping alot.

i don't think more prosecutions for illegal reentry, which is different than illegal entry, helps if the average sentence is 14 months. that's a false sense of progress or security, just like that idiotic border wall.

Mexicans and Hispanics sneak into this country because they have breed their selves out of living space and turned their country into a Cesspool and Third World Slum so they cross the Border to repeat the process and do the same for this Nation.
When they cross the Border they are met by our Corrupt/Treasonous/Lawless politicians usually a Democrat with open arms and a welfare check followed by a good church going CoC Republican to hire them at slave labor wages while passing on the actual cost of their employee plus all of his dependants on to American tax payers.
The Government then force American citizens pay the medical bills for their Prolific breeding and provide welfare and education for their anchor spawn.
They earn more here in a half day's work than they do in a week at home. The water is cleaner, the medical care (which they get for FREE) is much better, they get low-cost (or free) housing, don't pay taxes, drive without licenses and insurance, attend schools for free (with 2-3 daily meals included, courtesy of Uncle Sam), get welfare, food stamps etc, etc.
For all of this royal treatment, are they grateful? OF COURSE NOT. THEY'RE CONSTANTLY FURIOUS AT Us Protesting and demanding More, waving Mexican flags in our face while turning this Nation into the same type of Cesspool & Third World Slum they have created in their own countries, that they are now fleeing!
We've given them the shirt off every taxpayer's back, but they want MORE. Why do legal American CITIZENS that have obeyed our laws, fought the wars and with Blood, Sweat and Tears built this Nation not have the right to get angry, without being called RACIST by the Liberals & other Illegal loving, American hater,s?
Tens of thousands American Families Homeless, 17 million American citizens unemployed & losing everything while millions of American kids living in poverty, but our Politicians allow the largest invasion in World history, at any Time, any place, by any means, as Millions of Criminals and Uneducated Third World Parasites march across our Borders to take our Jobs, drive our Standard of living to third world standards, overwhelm our schools, our hospitals, ER rooms, flood our prisons, cost us Billions in Welfare to provide medical, schooling, etc while destroying our culture and turning this Nation into the same type of Third World Cesspool & Slum they are fleeing!
So why shouldn't Americans be upset and hold our Corrupt/Treasonous/Lawless politicians accountable for their Treason in refusing to abide by our Constitution Article IV Section IV against invasion. refuse to enforce our Immigration Laws and refuse to honor their Oath of Office!
We should demand arrest, impeachment and charges of Treason against all living Presidents and Pro Illegal Aliens politicians from coast to coast!
But nothing will change as long as votes and money are more important than American citizens lives and the future of this Nation to our Corrupt/Treasonous Politicians which include many Republicans and 99.9% of Democrat politicians!
What is a few deaths like the estimated 25 American killed each day by Illegal Aliens and the tens of thousands robberies, rapes, identify thief etc. etc and the 100,s of billions in cost of benefits for the invaders as compared to the Democrats requirement for Uneducated, Prolific breeding, Welfare Democrat voters or Businesses and the CoC love of Slave labor with most of their of their cost paid by tax payers!

We need to limit immigration to people with the skills we need, similar to what Canada and Australia do. There was a time when we needed lots of unskilled immigrants to do unskilled work. No longer. Maybe we should help Mexico, Guatemala, etc. to clean up their acts back home so their citizens are not feeling a need to flee to the United States. And come down hard on employers who hire illegal immigrants.

The facts:
If you cross the North Korean border illegally you get 12 years hard labor.
If you cross the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely.
If you cross the Afghan border illegally, you get shot.
If you cross the Saudi Arabian border illegally you will be jailed.
If you cross the Chinese border illegally you may never be heard from again.
If you cross the Venezuelan border illegally you will be branded a spy and your fate will be sealed.
If you cross the Mexican borders illegally you will jailed for two years.
If you cross the Cuban border illegally you will be thrown into political prison to rot.
These are laws are current immigration laws of MEXICO!!!
1.There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools.
2. All ballots will be in this nation's language.
3. All government business will be conducted in our language.
4. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.
5. Non-citizens will NEVER be able to hold political office.
6 Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care,
or other government assistance programs. Any burden will be deported.
7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least equal to 40,000 times
the daily minimum wage.
8. If foreigners come here and buy land, options will be restricted.
Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
9. Foreigners may have no protests; no demonstrations, no waving of a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his policies. These will lead to deportation.
10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted &, when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All assets will be taken from you.
TOO STRICT?
These rules sound fine to me.
NOW, how can we get these laws to be America's immigration laws
If you cross the United States border illegally you get:
1 - A job
2 - A driver's license
3 - A Social Security card
4 - Welfare
5 - Food stamps
6 - Credit cards
7 - Subsidized rent or a loan to buy a house
8 - Free education
9 - Free health care
10 - A lobbyist in Washington
11 - Billions of dollars in public documents printed in your language
12 - Millions of servicemen and women who are willing to - and do - die
for your right to the ways and means of our Constitution
13 - And the right to carry the flag of your country - the one you walked
out on - while you call America racist and protest that you don't get
enough respect.
SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE
How about making Mexico's immigration laws OURS.
They work down there so they should work here.

Immigration Enforcement Responsible for Large Drop in Crime
Gwinnett County, GA, is roughly 1600 miles from the Mexican border, but serious crime in 2010 has dropped significantly with murders down 43%, robberies down 30% and stolen vehicle reports falling 18 percent. Authorities give credit to enforcing illegal immigration law.
There are 5,000 fewer illegal immigrants in the county jail than there were in late 2009 when the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) began participating in the 287(g) program which allows local law enforcement to identify and report illegal aliens in their custody.
The Sheriff’s spokeswoman, Stacey Bourbonnais, credits immigration enforcement for the large drop saying, “In the last 10 years, we have never seen a decrease in foreign-born bookings. In fact, we’ve been seeing significant increases every single year for the last 10 years until the 287(g) program started.” Since November 2009, when the GCSO began participating in 287(g), 4,153 illegal immigrants (responsible for a total of 9,177 various charges) have been identified.
The most serious crimes which those illegal immigrants were charged: felony drug charges (330), rape (32), child molestation (65), other sex crimes (40), DUI (658), aggravated assault (103), robbery (54), battery (228), and murder (4).
Mexico represents the country of origin of the most illegal immigrants arrested in Gwinnett County with over half of those arrested from Mexico. Nearly one-fourth of those arrested were from Honduras, Guatemala, or El Salvador.

The DREAM Act is a bipartisan legislation ? pioneered by Sen. Orin Hatch [R-UT] and Sen. Richard Durbin [D-IL] ? that can solve this hemorrhaging injustice in our society. Under the rigorous provisions of the DREAM Act, qualifying undocumented youth would be eligible for a 6 year long conditional path to citizenship that requires completion of a college degree or two years of military service.

Who is the real criminal? I agree with everything about most of the stuff. Some illigal immigrants abuse the medicaid, medicare, and any other way to get free services, but some americans do it too. Illigal immigrants do not pay taxes, but their employer "an American", does not pay taxes either, nor pays the leagal pay. Why; because, they are illigal immigrants. I believe that everybody is confuse on who is to blame, or maybe that is what somebody is making us belive. People that can afford cheap labor would use it to save money, and that same people is the people attracting the illigal immigration. It is still some form of salvery, in the past MLK fought against descrimination, and we need to think who was against MLK. The people that was happy discriminating. In our time one needs to think about laws where the employer would be the illigal for paying less than what he suppose to pay for the labor. I would like to see how many "illigal immigrants" would sue the their employer. Any body can do whatever they want to protect thei house, but if sombody from your same house is sneaking people inside the house, your job is worthless. Like an articicle I read..."the house is the country you can let other kid play with your son if he uses the legal way; like asking if I can come in to play, but if another boy jumps the fence without permmision...he needs to be removed fromthe house..." I read this and I thought may be your husband has an affair and he is sneaking another woman to your same bed. Would that be legal way to get into your house, or who would this reporter would blame? We amaerican are suffering, but the real criminal is among us. I do not want to offend anybody, but we need to target the real criminal, the main problem not the results.

Nearly 60% of aliens fail to appear for their immigration hearing so when they receive a deportation order, they never actually leave. Probably the individuals charged with illegal re-entry never left the US to begin with.

@Kenneth You leave out the part where young immigrants are able to receive a visa by just buying a GED online. (It costs $99.) I love it when people only talk about the requirements for citizenship in the DREAM Act and fail to mention that it provides mass amnesty (visa) with virtually no enforceable requirements. There is a reason that it ends with a non-disclosure penalty ($5000) for the employees of DHS to discourage them from sharing any information. It seems like they are expecting fraud before they even get the bill passed.

We are making progress in law enforcement of immigration laws and in areas of keeping jobs and benefits from Illegals. It is a slow process and is being fought against every step of the way by Pro Immigration forces. The trend is against them, but we need to increase our efforts on all fronts while they are on the defense.Every new law passed puts their efforts to a disadvantage, and builds momentum for the Anti Illegal movement. We can and we will win . Illegal Immigrants are starting to get the message they are not wanted and if caught will be deported or prosecuted. Join an Organization and add your voice and support, it makes a difference. NumbersUSA will be making a strong push starting this Monday in Congress for passage of E Verify , now in the House Judiciary Committee. Faxes, phone calls , E Mails are needed Now. Business is caving in. They know individual States are enacting laws and are now wanting a uniform Federal law. There is a weakness to be exploited and the time is now.

Lets not forget the biggest reason illegals come is jobs. NumbersUSA has said this is a good e verify bill but though we asked; we didnt see anything in anything we have read on that site or others if it includes independent contractor work.
When AZ did theirs several years back; it left contract work off so illegals got those kind of jobs and it hurt the legal residents / citizens who do this work.
GA put it in their law.
This is 1099 work. Consulant, construction, landscaping, etc.
We also need to also make sure if people go into business going the same 1099 work that they are required to have a license to do it and that it can only come from the state. When they go to the state to get it; they have to show proof of right to work for themselves and anyone they hire. this fits into the AZ law that SCOTUS just upheld too.
We dont need loopholes in any e verify bill and thats what we have in CO which makes it so hard for those of us like ourself to do this work and to make a decent living wage at it.

I agree that in order for this effort to be effective all employers should be included. Sadly you cannot legislate Patriotism, ethical or moral values. As a Superintendent/ Project Manager for a small commercial GC , I make sure everyone working on my sites is legal to do so. I removed all illegal labor from the company when I came . Wages are already depressed to the point hiring illegal labor over legal workers does not result in cost savings to any significant degree. I do this because I feel it is the right thing , the Moral thing, and the Ethical thing to do , besides technically being against the law already to hire illegal labor. The mindset of Americans in general needs to change. More people need to realize when you pay less than a living wage to someone for a service, it will come full circle back to you in an economic effect. Unless all wages are relative then goods or services provided by those in upper income levels will suffer when those in lower income levels can no longer afford them. Paying Juan $20 to mow your yard rather than Jim Smith $30 has an overall effect on the economy that will be felt by all. It is cumulative and progressive. Wages in some areas like construction have been hard hit and may never recover. Free enterprise, capitalism in general adjusts in a relative manner on it's own, unless some outside force changes the dynamic of the system. The massive flow of cheaper illegal labor is such a force that has changed the self adjusting nature of our economic system. Only another force outside the system itself, the Government, can attempt to set the balance back again. Without control over availability of labor the situation will only worsen.While not perfect all these laws are a start, and we all have to start somewhere. If we do not start somewhere, we will all end up in the same place and it will not be pretty for any of us.
