House Democrats Want Hearing After Fatal DPS Shooting
A pair of House Democrats are asking to convene an emergency hearing on Texas Department of Public Safety policies in light of the fatal shooting of two Guatemalan nationals last week.
In a letter to state Rep. Sid Miller, R-Stephenville, the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety; House Speaker Joe Straus; and DPS Director Steve McCraw, Reps. Lon Burnam, D-Fort Worth, and Armando Walle, D-Houston, ask for immediate attention to the fatal shooting in La Joya, Texas.
On Oct. 25, a sniper from a DPS helicopter fatally shot two immigrants and injured another. The helicopter ...

Good on them. There is a SERIOUS lack of accountability in DPS and this is just the most egregious example.

See folks democrats will not stop at anything to help illegal aliens breaking our laws. We have officers get shot or killed and a American citizens get hurt or killed they will not lift a finger or say a word to help Americans. So send democrats and Obama a strong message this November 6th send them packing so we have leaders that care about Americans.

Politely ask them to stop, if they do not just let them go. I guess this is what some people want to happen. Most law abiding Citizens stop when told to do so,,, if you do not then one has to assume you are up to no good and you will bear the consequences.
I would hope those who condemn the DPS or Border Patrol for their actions do stop when ordered to if they are ever confronted . If they think they can just do as they want to , they may have the same problem these Guatemalans ended up having.
One of these days it will not be peasants looking for work , it will be terrorists toting a dirty bomb or worse. A message should be sent you do not cross anywhere but at an authorized crossing and doing so may result in injury or death if you do not comply when ordered to stop.
Some people want to blame those trying to protect us rather than the scofflaws that ignore the rule of law and think they can do whatever they like without consequence.
Nobody wants to have to shoot these people and I do not want them to put themselves in that position. Stay on your side of the border ,,,,, respect our laws,,, and you will not have this problem.
Unfortunate it ended up this way , but the border crashers made a choice and it did not turn out well for them.
Good work and thanks to all who protect us daily without thanks from a large segment of the population.

I love the "so called" christian value commenters here who essentially support the shooting of unarmed people, even the undocumented. Honestly, such hate filled diatribe speaks volumes about who you are as a person.
I have had the pleasure, during my professional career, to work with DPS on several occasions. Every one of these officers have been the best of the best. They do a difficult job, and they do it well. My deepest gratitude to each and everyone of these officers. However, shooting unarmed citizens, even if they are undocumented aliens, does not reflect the standard of conduct any reasonable person would expect of DPS. There needs to be an investigation. This is not acceptable for a civilized society. This is action that is abhorrent to any descent and civilized person.

I believe that most news stories have made pretty clear that the "load" was covered, and officers thought they were shooting at unarmed bales of marijuana not people. Of course we all know that illegal immigration has been halted by the efforts of the Obama DHS so why would officers leap to the conclusion that the "load" involved might be human rather than drugs?
