Web Traffic to Texas Border Cameras Dropping
Hits on Gov. Rick Perry’s virtual border fence Web site are dwindling, even as he prepares to spend another $2 million to keep the program running.
A review of Web traffic data by the Texas Tribune shows a steady drop over the last year in the number of people who log onto the Texas Border Watch Web site to patrol for illegal immigrants and criminals.
With few visitors to the site, experts say the Texas Border Watch likely won’t detect many criminals or produce promised advertising revenue to sustain itself.

Yet again, another attempt at Rick Perry being a do nothing Governor. Another $2 million Dollars?
There is a score of applications you can download on the Interweb that will monitor WebSite cameras for "Motion Detection" based on Contract Change. Then e-mail pictures as a notification. Serious, why do the Officers that patrol the area not have some type of enabled device that can get this information.
Then we could pay them to sit on their rumps until the TECHNOLOGY does their job for them and just dispatch them.
If Texas Parks and Wildlife and our Ledgeslator had not outlawed "Remote Hunting" we could have used the technology developed in 2004 which allowed Internet Controlled Rifles which would eliminate this situation, well at least the lack of viewers.
