Rep. Jose Aliseda, R-Beeville, beat an incumbent Democrat last November to win his seat in the Texas House. Now, he says, he won't seek re-election, opting instead for a local race for district attorney that plays to his strengths as a former prosecutor and that keeps him at home where he can be with his family and keep an eye on his ranch and other interests.
