Craddick's Collapse Not Serious, His Office Says

Former House Speaker Tom Craddick, R-Midland, collapsed in the Capitol this morning while laying out a bill before the House Transportation Committee. His office sent out a statement saying Craddick “lost his balance and fell to his side, hitting his head as he fell.”

The statement says Craddick has been recovering from a leg problem, and was recently taking pain medication for an infected tooth. His office says he is conscious and was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure. "EMS does not consider the situation serious," the statement says.
