Planned Parenthood to Remain in Women's Health Program
Planned Parenthood will continue participating in the Women’s Health Program — for now. Travis County District Judge Stephen Yelenosky on Thursday approved a temporary injunction to delay the state’s implementation of the “Affiliate Ban Rule,” which would bar the nonprofit from participating in the program, until a full trial can be held in December.
Planned Parenthood is "likely to prevail on their claim that the rule is inconsistent with the instructions of the Texas
Legislature," wrote Yelenosky in a letter authorizing the temporary injunction.
“This is another victory for the women of Texas that Planned Parenthood is proud to ...

Damn. Clearly this shows Governor Perry cares more about his religious agenda and not about Texans.

This is good news. I depended on Planned Parenthood for most of my adult life and was horrified when I learned about all of the clinics closing here and why. I wonder how this will effect these poor girls in the long run. You only have a chance to fight cancer if detected early.

So many lawyers working for both sides of this issue. All because the TEA-Republican Governor and Texas Legislature have crossed the line separating religion and politics. Perry's use of the 10th Amendment to backup "States Right's" again to gain credibility. But there is direct lines between Perry and the TEA-Republican Legislature's religious beliefs being legislated and federal monies directed for the indigent of America, including Texas.

I no longer give to Susan G Komen Foundation or support their Walk or Race. I give directly to American Cancer Society or Womens Health Initiative. Also Planned Partenthood. Great organization that helps the health concerns of all women.

if they would abandon the referral to abortion providers nobody would have a problem with it. Being conservative I really wish this was not a core issue of the GOP.
After all it is a personal choice and those who have these abortions will have to justify it to themselves and live with the fact whether it bothers them or not,,,,, really not my problem. As a practical approach it does save a lot of money down the road as these children would probably be generational welfare babies and breed even more. As PP being a product of the Ideology of Margret Sanger who promoted abortion and the control of minority populations and basically being a eugenicist ,, it looks to be strange Democrats would support such a program any more then they would support the Klan.
The only problem I have,,, not being in favor of it,,,, is my money being used for it. For the GOP to claim to be against governmental control it seems hypocritical to want to control this aspect of ones life.
Let the abortions continue if that is what you want , just do not expect some of us to like paying for these services or supporting organizations that promote them.

David, Margaret Sanger died in 1966--guess you didn't know. But, it's probably never too late to send your sympathies--better late than never.

So is Madeline O'Hare and her Son. Good riddance to bad rubbish. The world is a much better place without them. One racist , both bigots. But their legacies still live on.
