Advocates Sue Gov. Perry Over State Living Centers
Disability rights advocates filed a class-action lawsuit today claiming that six Texas officials, including Gov. Rick Perry, violated the rights of more than 4,200 residents in state-supported living centers.
Three plaintiffs with intellectual and developmental disabilities filed the suit in a state district court in Travis County. The three, who the plaintiffs say have been involuntarily institutionalized for a combined total of 134 years, claim that state leaders violated their due process rights by not allowing them periodic judicial reviews to determine whether they still need sustained confinement.

What about the elderly and disabled who were placed under FORCED GUARDIANSHIP, and locked up against their and their families wishes, whom this was done to with no DUE PROCESS, and no OVER SITE, and no TRANSPARENCY?
My in-laws were taken from family who saved them money, only to be raped and pillaged by the very court that was accusing the family of forcing money from them. The very court who locked them up, and ISOLATED, OVER MEDICATED, and TOTALLY DEPLETED THEIR ESTATE. THE VERY COURT WHO DID NOT WANT TO USE THE LAST MONIES TO PAY FOR A FUNERAL FOR MY FATHER-IN-LAW, BUT TO PUT EVERY PENNY IN THEIR OWN POCKETS. THE VERY COURT WHO DRAINED AN ESTATE PAYING GUARDIANS, AND THEIR ATTORNEYS OUT OF MY IN-LAW ESTATE, OVER HALF A MILLION, AND THEN THROUGH MY IN-LAWS ON MEDICAID. THEY CANCELED INSURANCES, CASHED IN IRAs, CD's, ...... The judge who was over our case, allowed his close ties to "help" a 95 year old lady to change her will, naming him, his ex-wife, and other close ties as beneficiaries to her will.
My in-laws under the "care" of people who have abused their powers, for greed at the expense of innocent people like them, have passed way, however there are others out there who are still being held by these people APS, DADS, so called CARE FACILITIES... AND NOT ONE THING IS BEING DONE BY THE STATE TO STOP THESE ABUSES.

Governor Perry is a Despot, he see himself as "King" of Texas. With only 8% of the Texas voters turning out, I'd say that he will do as he pleases, as long as people don't become involved. "One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics, is that you end up being governed by your inferiors"- Plato. So, if "We the People" want to be heard we must vote and often. Remember, one also gets what they don't vote for; it's called the Status Quo. If we desire change we must be a part of the change we want.
