Court: Texas Must Include Planned Parenthood in WHP
Updated, 5:10 p.m.:
This afternoon, Texas Health and Human Services Commission spokeswoman Stephanie Goodman confirmed that Monday’s preliminary injunction is in effect. For now, the state cannot enforce its own rules banning the Planned Parenthood affiliates from participating in the Women’s Health Program.
“We will comply with the court’s order as the case proceeds. We also will continue to work toward a state program that provides women with access to vital family planning services and complies with the law that bans abortion providers from getting those funds,” Goodman wrote in a prepared statement.

Kinda like ping-pong. Texas has been a one-party state for too long. Looking around and watching the destruction of our way of life and the confrontational Governor and Legislature and how they treat immigration, women, gays, blacks, students and Texas/American history, it is time to change. Vote straight Democratic Ticket! Effect a change! Make your voices heard!

Not factual Amy.

@Amy, try stating facts next time instead of passing on completely non-factual propaganda. Try 3-10%, depending on how the data is massaged.

SB7, passed last June, specifically states that if the corts or Feds force the State to fund "affiliates " of abortionists, the State may not fund at all. PP calls their non-abortionist facilities "affiliates, and so does the AG. HHS will have no choice but to shut the money down.

WHP - Medicaid Funds are not separated fromt the abortion facilities. Taxpayers do not want to fund abortion. The State forced Planned Parenthood in San Antonio to return thousands of dollars in WHP funds in 2009 because Planned Parenthood had been illegally operating unlicensed abortion facilities at the same sites where they were providing WHP services.

If the anti abortion legislators must call Planned Parenthood
"abortion providers,"
how about changing the name 'males' to:
"Unwanted pregnancy providers?"
