Perry Talks Dropping Medicaid on CNN
Our story about Texas Republicans considering opting out of the federal Medicaid program took on a life of its own this weekend.
Gov. Rick Perry got in on the action on CNN's State of the Union with Candy Crowley on Sunday, saying Texas could create its own insurance program for the state's Medicaid population — or else the federal government could allow Texas to pick and choose the elements of Medicaid it wants to participate in without the strings attached. (Experts say that last idea is unlikely to gain much traction in Washington.)
Then Parkland Hospital chief Ron Anderson ...

That media whore will say anything to keep his name in the press. "OK to carry guns in bars!" What about carrying guns on a tour of the renovated Governor's Mansion?

Lets say they do get out of Medicaid. Do he, or does he care about the fact that the Counties will be overrun with emergency room forcing these counties to cut back on services other than the county Hostpital. Oh that makes sense, forcing smaller government down our throats. So much for protecting us on the Border. LOL

In fact, the oppression of the Saudi Monarchy is the root cause of the terrorist problem. We may find that liberating Saudi Arabia reduces our own need for a massive Homeland security budget!!!

The US has some of the best medical quality in the world. Too bad in Texas, 25% of the population doesn't have access to it. Donch'ya just love your freedom?

Impeachment is a formal process in which an official is accused of unlawful activity and the outcome of which, depending on country can lead to the removal of that official from office or other punishment.
Just wait - he will give us the opportunity.

Oh hell Rick, let's just secede from the Union like you threatened to do last year! That'll get you some Tea Party votes! Then you and Sarah can declare your candidacy to become King and Queen of "The New Confederacy"!

Oh BTW... to qualify for medicaid in Texas, an adult may make no more than two hundred dollars/per month. Yes, that's $200.00. CHIPS makes it easier for children to get into the program....but virtually no doctors accept it as payment.

This is just hypocritical for Ron Anderson to talk about the Medicaid program.
His hospital and affiliated medical school, Parkland and UT Southwestern, have been previously sued in a qui tam False Claims Act lawsuit for Medicare fraud by their Chief Billing Compliance Officer (see US, ex rel Mooney v. UTSW), and both institutions currently have a federal probe into Medicare and Medicaid fraud by the US Department of Justice and the Texas Attorney General. (See articles at http://www.dallasnews.com/news/community-news/dallas/headlines/20100530-feds-probe-alleged-fraud-at-ut-southwestern-parkland-.ece and http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2010/05/30/Medical-school-in-federal-fraud-probe/UPI-71741275252361/.)
Parkland and UTSW are the most corrupt and troubled hospitals anywhere in the state of Texas. The list of articles done last year by the Dallas Morning News is near 40 for various scandals and fraud committed by both institutions. (See http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2010/05/30/Medical-school-in-federal-fraud-probe/UPI-71741275252361/.)
Not the expert opinion you should be seeking to talk about Medicaid programs.
