Baylor, Scott & White Announce Merger

Update, 4:10 p.m.:

The boards of both Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Healthcare have signed a letter of intent to merge the two organizations, creating a $7.7 billion health network called Baylor Scott & White Health.

"This is two strong partners coming together to truly create a new model of health care delivery that really focuses on the patient, on population health management," said Baylor CEO Joel Allison, who will head the new merged system.
