Windmilling, a Dying Art, Hangs on in Texas
CLAUDE — Working 35 feet above the flat earth of the Panhandle, a young man in a baseball cap loosened the bolts attaching a windmill to a steel tower.
“Ready?” came the shout from the ground. “Yeah, go ahead,” he hollered back. Slowly, the 500-pound windmill was lowered to the ground. A four-man crew expertly dismantled the wheel and replaced the motor, which had stopped working after it ran out of oil, and within an hour the windmill was hoisted back up and ready to spin.

There's a wonderful windill exhibit worth seeing at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum in Canyon Texas, by Palo Duro Canyon State Park.

Wind is free. God bless 'em and keep 'em working. My only question is, why don't they make windmills in a double helix format? All energy then goes into a single axis, rather than requiring gearing to transfer horizontal spin to vertical spin.

Lots of people want to go "green" and did long before Obama was president. The Trib continues its drift to the right.

You quote Bracher sounding like it's a bad thing for Obama to want the country to go green, even though going green is basically what's paying Bracher's bills, and you don't challenge him. Or at least you quote him as if it's a legitimate dig.
What about Perry, Romney, Bachmann, Gingrich who are all trying to appease the foaming-mouth-breathing blowhards of the GOP by saying we don't need to go green? Why couldn't you quote something Bracher says about those idiots?
