Conserving Water a Daily Chore for One Central Texas Community
Within the past year, the drought has spurred many municipalities in Texas to impose water restrictions. But as Andy Uhler of KUT News reports, the stakes are much higher in Las Lomitas, a low-income community in Travis County whose residents lack running water.

After listening to the report, I did some research how this happened. And of course it lead back to an unscrupulous land developer named Hank Peavler. I hesitate to call him a developer because obviously his idea of developing and mine differ, but for the sake of argument that was his job description at the time he sold the properties. Since the Creedmoor-Maha Water Supply Corp is willing to supply water but not the lines which can be quite expensive and it's probably too late (this problem started in 2002) to sue ole Hank for his cheapsake ways of land development, the state should give this community a grant to build the lines! After all these are our neighbors and fellow Texans who are paying property taxes just like the rest of us! I wish them a quick resolution to this insane problem.
