We now have increased oil production, natural gas production, and this shale oil production is really really dirty stuff. Some are screaming about gas prices, yet, the Oil companies have not built a new refinery, since I believe 1973, causing a bottleneck in gasoline production, thus increased prices. Of course, this is only one of a couple of reasons for higher prices.. Oil companies do not make huge profits on gasoline production, compared to exporting oil sales. So why can't they build a gasoline production plant, in the north? We do not need a pipeline alllthe way to the Gulf Coast. This simple diversity, two areas for gasoline production, also creates a better National Security situation. Shipping this dirty oil to the Gulf Coast, only give the Oil companies more power, against the public. A really bad idea !
