his opinion is unfettered pro industry when industry has proved it can't regulate itself.

We are becoming slaves to Big Oil.
They do exactly what they want.
They complain about regulations but they never regulate themselves.
They hardly spend a dime on research for ways to prevent enormous problems or what to do about them these prroblems when they happen.
They ae still using elementary ways to contain disasterous spills.
Exxon, with millions of dollars of fines imposed on them for the Valdez disaster, have not, as of August 30, 2011 paid one penny of the fines.

We do not enjoy criticizing companies and their managements, but there are situations where the criticism is warranted due to the fallout from the events underway on the image of all other energy companies.
BigOil is running amok... we are slow in noticing this.
