Texas Sees Rising Tide of Property-Rights Cases
The case of Julia Trigg Crawford versus the Keystone XL oil pipeline will soon return to the headlines.
Crawford, a northeast Texas farmer, is fighting to keep TransCananda, the pipeline’s owner, from invoking the right of eminent domain to cross her property. A Lamar County judge ruled against her last month, but Crawford says she plans to file an appeal soon — probably to the state’s 6th Court of Appeals in Texarkana.
“We feel good about a panel of judges” hearing the case for the court, she says.

We will work it out.

I am sure our state government will work it out when you turn on your kitchen faucet and you get a bright flame. Or not.

Don't forget that this is a pipeline from a foreign country. How can they come into our country and claim imminent domain? This stuff they want to run through the pipeline is sludge, low-grade oil. Process it in Canada, not here in the US where they want to cut across the entire country to do so. No foreign company should have rights to take private property in our country. Period.

It's also a philosophical discussion on individual rights and what is public domain for greater good. Keep us this story, TT.

"Keep up the story, TT" I meant. ;)

The national version of the TEA-Libertarian-GOP-Republican-Evangelical extreme going all out to by-pass the president and allow the Keystone XL Oil pipeline access through people's property under the guise of "Public Domain" stinks. John Cornyn and company have worked tirelessly to make Obama's tenure in office unpleasant, fruitless and distasteful as Mitch McConnell expressed on Obama's inaugural day. Right! I think, therefore I will vote for the most qualified to represent me after watching and paying attention to the primaries and the conventions. The confrontational TEA fringe have subverted the Republican party and split it up into the TEA-Libertarian-GOP-Republican-Evangelical ticket. It's people like you who do not want to acknowledge the Todd Akin Firestorm, the repeated hurdles and road blocks for voting rights, targeting small business owners who bear-hug the president, stand silent as soldier in combat is booed on stage by primary contenders, engage in purging voter roles to stem this precious right and continue to fight the Supreme court sanctioned PPACA. (formerly called RomneyCare, once called ObamaCares and now is the Health Care Act.
Ad to that president Obama ordered the taking out of Osama Bin Ladin in three years, while Bush languished seven years trying to get him.
