Perry Slams EPA Official's "Crucify" Comment
Another front has opened in the battle between Texas officials and the Environmental Protection Agency. Comments have surfaced from Al Armendariz, the top official in the EPA's Region 6 (which includes Texas), who likened the way Romans tamed Turkish towns to the way the EPA could carry out enforcement actions.
"It is kind of like how the Romans used to conquer villages in the Mediterranean," Armendariz said, in comments from 2010. "They’d go into a little Turkish town somewhere, they’d find the first five guys they saw and they’d crucify them. Then that little town was ...

I'm from Corpus Christi and Almendariz was here last week. The reality is he does need to crucify several of the big offendors, they all think enforcement in Texas is a joke. You should have seen the local officials, all who get direct financial benefits of one kind or another from the refineries, telling the EPA how we all live in clean air happyville down here in one of the biggest concentration of refinieries in the country. Citgo was found guilty of criminal offenses here several years ago and still hasnt been sentenced. Go Al Go!

So instead of dealing with the issue everyone just calls each other names.

Frankly, I would support his plans of crucifying some of the more offending polluters. The only problem I have is his apologizing in the face of Governor Slush Fund's criticism. When are the FEDs going to realize our looser governor is going to lie, twist, and distort everything the Federal Government is doing. Of course he would love to gut the EPA, it's what his Money Masters want.

Wow. It's hard to believe some of you actually read this and still would allow the EPA to attack so called "offenders.
Who do you suppose will decide who is in the wrong and in need of punishment?
Do you think they will stop there?
The EPA is a government controlled organization and we all know how those work out for the common people. If you think I'm wrong...remember the so called "smart meters" they connected to your home. Their plan is already in motion and this is just them beginning to amp it up.
You can't give away your neighbor's rights and freedoms without giving away your own as well. Whether we like the big industries or not, we have to protect them in order to protect ourselves.

Yeah, well, you'd be less excited if you actually read the quote. He's talking about criminal violators. You don't seem to have any trouble with prosecutorial discretion when it comes to the current system of criminal justice - just when it comes to white collar criminals who commit their crimes with a computer.
