Texas and our nation has made some progress in special education in regard to equal access to learning materials. Thousands of children and adolescents with print disabilities (blind, low vision, a physical disability or severe reading disability) now have opportunities to read and learn using digital accessible books. There is a federally funded, online library (Bookshare) that provides free memberships for schools and families-- including reading technologies and professional development for teachers. Information for the Accessible Books for Texas program is located at this link: http://www.accessiblebooks4tx.org/
