At last Wednesday's TribLive conversation, first-term House members Stefani Carter, R-Dallas, Cindy Burkett, R-Mesquite, and Rodney Anderson, R-Grand Prairie, explained why they think deep cuts to public education are possible.

Does Mr. Anderson realize that Texas is the largest state with public education so we are going to spend more?
Try consolidating the rural districts in west Texas that are 4o to 60 miles apart. This will cost more than keeping them open.
Yes, I agree on cutting administrators. Too many non essential administrators employed making over $100,000 / year.
Ultimately, we are going to have to have a tax increase. The legislators are going to have to be held accountable for the future of Texas. The future being the school children / students of Texas. If not then they need to be booted from office.
