UNT Regents Fire Health Science Center President
The regents of the University of North Texas System fired Dr. Scott Ransom, the president of the University of North Texas Health Science Center, at a Friday meeting called expressly for that purpose.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Ransom left the meeting without talking to reporters following the regents' unanimous vote.
The decision seems to stem from dissatisfaction with Ransom's behavior following an announcement that the system intended to review the possibility of merging the health science center and the system's flagship campus.

Your information is incorrect. I suggest talking with people other than the board of regents to get to the bottom of this story. Dr. Ransom should have never been fired and is most certainly NOT guilty of any of these misdeed of which he stands accused....this is a woeful misuse of political power....look at who is appointed in his place...can you say conflict of interest? I believe if you truly do your research, you'll find someone needs to take a deeper look at the board of regents and the Chancellor's role in this. Are there still investigative reporters out there that are interested in political schemes...if so...here's your story!
